Dr. Marszalek's the major reason why MSU has the Grant papers, and he is an excellent professor.1

_________

He and I debated SSN in the old break room across from the office in the History Department. We did not agree politically but we loved history and we got along very well. He is a great teacher. Does anyone know what Mr. Reed is doing now? He was my advisor my Jr and SR years. My SR year he got busted for pot. I thought at the time it was the funniest thing ever. I know he is retired for sure but I wonder what he is doing. There was another professor I think his name was Dr. Hauck (spelling error) he had a spot in the left field lounge and he let his students hang out with him at baseball game. He was also a great teacher.

Trust me he is still the cheerful assassin. I have him look over almost everything I write.

and opened in the car after class and it was a D. Went back to the room he was still there with someother students. I said I never made under a B in your class. He said oh maybe your right and changed my grade. Glad I looked at the report. We also did not agree on politics, but loved the class.

I had him for an honors class in '74, so he's put in at least 35 years at MSU. Liked him a lot.

Anybody here have Joe Stockwell for Sophomore Lit? One of a kind...

The only other thing I remember from 1974 was a sorority girl (Tri-Delt or Chi O) named Jonelle Kerkhoff who made Pam Anderson look like Roseanne Barr on a bad day.

Quarter-ton lesbians tend to all run together in my mind.

As for the aforementioned Jonelle, think 22-inch waist and sweater accessories of improbable heft and uplift.

Tough seminar. Nice guy and definitely well deserving of the Cheerful Assassin moniker. And now all the history profs who were at MSU when I was there are retired or doing other things.
