The truth is, Franklin lost the passion; we've all saw it over the years. It became apparent he was more of a "I'll get you ready for the pros" and less, "this is a team effort" mentality. He didn't seem to develop players and the ones who seemed to be on track left early. Which is probably why we saw limited playing time for some players. Almost seemed he didn't want some players to shine early, in fear, they'd leave. His pressers were more business oriented than uplifting and his responses sounded robotic. He never seemed to talk to players nor directed/coach them during games. I personally got tired for the "deer in the head lights" look when the games were slipping away. There are a lot of truths coming out but these are some of the biggest ones for me.

Reading a bunch of stuff over the last few days and thought I'd try to put it all in one thread until we get to the truth. I think we can all agree this isn't all about 3 losses in a row. You just don't make that move to a guy that has the 4 most wins in the last 4 years that just went to the semi final. So, here is what I have thus far:

1. Franklin requested a contract extension summer of 2025.
2. Kraft wanted to use $$$ resources to basically buy players and James wasn't on board with that and wanted to be more careful with how the money is spent.
3. JF was an arrogant fella and it finally caught up to him.
4. JFF and Kraft had a huge argument in the locker room in front of the team.
5. JFF after game reaction, he knew it was the end. Was he told going in to the game that this was happening?
6. Adidas paid off the buyout because they wanted him out prior to the season and before the contract was signed.

Franklin was an arrogant greedy a******. Everyone knew that.

That said, given the nature of the situation and the relationship, and the specific series of events: The idea that Kraft would even decide to walk into the locker room at that time is just incredibly inane, IMO.

That's an issue when you have an AD who's MO, from Day 1, is more "Fan Boy" than "Chief Administrator"

I think things have been tense between Krafty and Franklin since before the start of the season. PSU won the first three cupcake games, but didn't look particularly great. I suspect Krafty kept reminding King James of same; hence after the Oregon loss James acted like we was daring Krafty to fire him....especially during the NW fiasco.

If I was owed $50 million and knew that the season was likely to be a train wreck, I would have done the same.
