I say this very carefully... but I liked the basic offense Croom ran... it' just wasn't executed well. The I-Formation, downhill offense with Ducre' and Dixon was the best backfield we've had in a decade, and that downhill running was absolutely punishing, even if the defense knew it was coming. McCorvy (and Croom, for that matter) just had no clue how to to operate a balanced attack. The downhill 1-2 punch of Ducre' and Dixon coupled with a credible play action threat would have been a very potent attack. I mean hell, you see some play action in the video and see how wide open the tight end across the middle is. Why McCorvy and Croom never figured that out is beyond me...
