Calhoun BC will be interesting Calhoun had a majority of the kids back from the semifinal that team lets be honest. Gave it away vs BC last year. I wonder how that game is going to play out ESPECIALLY Up there

Haha are you referring to the "Home field advantage" at BC? I'm sure the bikers and the sting squad will be in full force per the usual.

I know nothing about Calhoun this year... I just know they're always a tough out it seems. And I know there's not fun way to get to Hardin, IL. What an interesting place in itself down there wedged between the rivers.

To me still a 3 horse race Calhoun bc CPC and GNW with a outside shot because their scheme is very tough to deal with and they are the epitome of bend don’t break.

She made a great fruit salad every holiday season and invited us up to take an ornament off her tree and do a special Christmas with each individual grankid of hers, loved that woman. Here I go writing another chapter in the novel... sorry not sorry. lol

The Home of Dot Foods... lot of Quincy folk running up and down 24 and the Kellerville blacktop that splits off of 104. The boys I used to know would buy a case at the convenience store and have it gone 30 mins later by the time they got to five points between Liberty and Quincy Regional Airport on the way back many nights and mornings.

My father's family came from Brown County, just outside Mt. Sterling, owned land somewhere near Buckhorn in the county. They still were making moonshine and spitting their Redman in spittoons when I was a kid in the 90s. Sometimes I wish that was a joke, but my dad's father, and my father himself, were the bah bah blacksheep of their family for sure. My grandfather served in the Army during the Korean War. When he returned home he bought a house in Quincy and drove an asphalt truck for Adams County til he retired. Awesome dude, honestly the most sane of all the family I met from that area. Lot's of good family's up that way though, didn't mean that as a slight on the BC people... The Tracy's, the Busens (also relation of mine out on the limbs of the family tree), and the Logsdons to name a few. I spent many a day riding a bike around Mt. Sterling as a kid with my cousins. Later I continued to visit my great grandmother and always found time to play golf at Rolling Greens up there. Fun little track for being quite a rural course I'd say...

Anyways, I totally agree, unique thing they do with the motorcycles there. The town loves it too. There and Camp Point always reminded me of what HSFB in the 70s/80s must have been like, kind of Friday Night Lights ish... town shutsdown, signs all around. I know that part isn't unique to there but Quincy wasn't like that for football... now basketball... they go crazy for some round ball in the Q...

I agree also though you can't count out Calhoun with them still on the schedule for BC

That you can. That week 9 match up will prove to be pivotal. I don't know what the rest of the slate that week looks like but that has to be one of the top small school games in the state

I might have to amend my 1A pick. Calhoun always seems to choke in the big game in the playoffs. Camp Point and Coach Dixon could make the run to state maybe even a surprise team like GNW if they can find some offense.

I mean the only big playoff game they have choked in recent memory was last year in the semi final game. Other than that the recent playoff losses have been expected. Even the CPC QF loss 2 years ago. CPC had gotten SUBSTANIALLY better from week 2

I wouldnt be surprised if Arcola took another forfeit next week to try and get healthy for a most likely 0-8 Tri County team and a chance to become playoff eligible week 9 with a second win.

Lost to Dwight by 8, Clifton by 3, and Westville by 1. Each of those teams is 5-1. Now ALAH who is 6-0 and Salt Fork Week 9 who should be 7-1 at that point.

I just wonder how good they actually are. I know they had high hopes coming into the year now with a bunch close losses now. I just can’t get over them losing round 1 to the 5th best team in the WIVC last year at home.

Don't know much about Tuscola this year, anyone? Could they beat Sullivan and provide a game? After Sullivan gave up 56 to ALAH I'm not sure the defense could match either CPC or Calhoun on paper.

1A north, from my view, appears to look much more competitive. Not that this fact would shock anyone.

No offense hope that doesn’t happen. I want EPG and Wilmo semi final lol. 2A South is brutal. I genuinely don’t know who’d I go with because no one ignites confidence into me
