We've been debating back and forth about the big boys, so what do the future stars bring to the table this year? I'll go ahead and give it my 2 cents worth: Swain is hands-down the team to beat. They took their lumps last year but return almost everyone. Robbinsville and Murphy are a tier down but stand a chance. Murphy completely rebuilding their line, but return the conference's best QB as a 9th grader this year. Hayesville can be very competitive depending on who they move up to varsity as 9th graders right off the bat. Cherokee and Rosman have some talent, but I'm interested to see how Rosman pulls off this 9th grade only team. Andrews lost everyone and will probably have a rough JV season.

Rosman isn’t gonna have only 9th grade this year from what I have heard
I'm glad to hear that. Even in Murphy, the numbers are normally in the mid to upper 20's for JV ball. I couldn't fathom how Rosman was going to field a team just off their 9th grade class.

We do have an above average class of 9th graders coming up , but I agree most years there is no way we could field a team of 9th only

Andrews did lose a lot from their JV, but also won the Cracker Bowl in midgets last year by almost 40 points, so might not be that rough of a season.

Ask last year's Swain JV team how much Cracker Bowls really mean....... Swain should be the team to beat this year but dominant youth cracker bowl champs don't seem to dominant at the upper level

That is fair. Didn't mean to imply they would dominate or even be in top half, just that writing them off as headed for a rough last place season because they relied last year mostly on older kids who won't be back on JV only looked at half the equation because their incoming group has had success.

On paper for now my picks would be
Swain
Murphy
Robbinsville
Cherokee
Hayesville
Rosman
Andrews
A lot can change in JV ball. One or two kids playing or not playing can make a huge difference.

Swain lost sain to varsity and threw them outta wack!! Far as I know right now they've lost 1 of there big boys and a couple of there skilled positions so I really think there gonna be strugglin to fill them shoes!!! Will see tho!!

My picks were based off what Swain was bringing back. Losing a few players could definitely change things

There gonna have a hard playin football player in Collins and he brings a whole lot to tha table but won't be able to pull it off all alone!! I think we're gonna surprise a bunch on jvs and varsity!!! Just all depends on what tha football god from Graham county sees in tha crystal ball!!

Its really hard to predict the JV’s this season. We have three very good skill position players. All three are 9th graders. Collins, Stepp and Groenwold. Two solid linemen Teesateeskie and Watty. We have some holes to fill with linemen but we have a few wide receivers and defensive backs looking good this preseason. Depth could also be an issue because I think our numbers are around the mid 20’s.

I agree that this year is not so cut and dry. Probably take a few weeks of the season to really see where everyone stands.

Murphy imo has 2 of the best skill players in the conference in Rumfelt and Wood. They should have a solid line again. This JV group reminds me of last year in that they have some really good athletes with not much experience. It may take them a few weeks to get clicking but I'm looking forward to watching them.

Won’t believe it till I see it. He has been at our offseason workouts. Has he shown up there yet? If not don’t hold your breath.

Swaindad I'd also put Greonwold up there as one of the top players in the conference. I've watched that young man since youth ball. He's a very hard nosed football player. He's gonna be a good one.
