a bunch of bear coaches, boosters, and handlers hanging around EMCC and tainting our waters there. If Brassell were to become eligible and come to MSU, I would be expecting monkeys to start flying out of my *** upon his announcement.

sounds like he needs some MAJOR attitude adjustments both on the field and in the classroom. In fact, he sort of sounds like Pat Patterson part 2.0.

I doubt we'll ever hear much more from him. Hope for his sake I'm wrong, but I've seen this movie plenty of times and it usually has the same ending.

should be an eye-opener for him going from playing front of 75K to playing for crowds smaller than what he played in front of in HS. He can be the typical Mississippi HS player from the Delta area- or change and make something of himself. We'll see

He should be used to it after playing in Vaught Hemingway for non-conference games. Those crowds probably measured nicely to EMCC games.

I think it is good for him to get away from his group of influence and peers in the Oxford, Sentobia, Batesville area. Scooba isn't a very good place, but at least he can get a fresh start. If he were to stay near Batesville, he would continue to be around the same people and problems.

and I would be very surprised if that is accurate. The same rules should apply to any D1 school once he left OM whether its back to OM or on to a new school as long as he meets any individual school's admission standards whereever he goes.

Scooba , might be just the place to get His **** together. Not much else going on. Maybe Scooba's rural environment is just the ticket. There has been lot's of players who have left Scooba Tech and been successful.

or some crap like that. He has already met our admission standards. He got in. To go elsewhere, he now needs to graduate JUCO. That's how I understand it. I'm not saying it should be that way, but I THINK that's correct.

I don't expect him back regardless.

both State and OM have the same entrance requirements.

Also, thought the rule was ... if one qualifies through the clearing house out of high school, then there is no requirement to complete JC. That is 'why' some can leave after one year and have 4 to play 3.

at OM wouldn't he have by default met the admission standards at most all SEC schools (save maybe Vandy). I mean he played last year so he met minimum SEC standards and I know that MSU and OM don't require more than that and that the majority of the SEC doesn't require more than that.

I don't know that I'd disagree with anybody's reasoning here, though. I think some of the justification is it keep a player from intentionally flunking out and going to JUCO for only 1 semester and going to spring practice at his new school while a legit transfer would have to sit out a full year. It takes away the incentive to screw up academically by forcing the player to graduate instead of transferring more easily than a passing student.

Unless he gets his **** together, we should just leave that alone. Amazing talent, incredibly stupid. Maybe Mullen and his staff could control him but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

If a player qualifies out of high school, he doesn't have to graduate JUCO. As a transfer, he can't play for any Div. I-A school for another year, but he can transfer anywhere for Spring 2013 with no problem. At least as far as the NCAA is concerned. Not sure if the SEC has some ******** rule about that, but if they do I haven't heard of it.</p>

There's nothing from stopping any transfer from practicing immediately with their new team, whether they go through a JUCO first or just transfer directly. Brassell can't transfer from the JUCO to a Div. I-A school and play at the new school before the 2014 season, but he could transfer there and start practicing at any time. He could change his mind tomorrow and transfer to another I-A school and practice immediately if that's what he wanted to do (and if he could get in).

Now I know better than most that a lot of times players end up at JUCO because they're overlooked but have remarkable character, but half the time it's discipline (behavior or grades). I think JUCO coaches have a knack for straightening kids out. Who knows what happens with this kid. Could easily be the next Cam Newton (kicked out of school, JUCO freak, 1st rounder after one year) or he could be the next to fall into line with the USP stereotype of busts.

I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he was going to be playing for EMCC this fall, or at least that he'd be in school there. The point is that next spring he can transfer anywhere with no limitations, other than any conference rule about a transfer to another SEC school. It's really amoot point anyway. The next time we hear from Brassell it will be because he's either a) transferring to Jackson St. orAlcorn St.; b) kicked out of EMCC; or c) arrested.</p>

any other school he'd have to sit out a year. But as you said we likely won't hear his name in a college football related way any time soon.

As long as he is in academic good standing, he can transfer from JUCO without graduating since he qualified for D1 out of HS.

He won't make it at MSU (not under Dan Mullen), and it would be Ok that he should go back to the Bears.

If they dare to take him back.
