I get honoring the team since we don't have a great history of success but man it makes me sad thinking about what could have been with that team. We were arguably 3 plays from going into the Egg Bowl unbeaten. In that case I think we actually show up for the game. A miracle throw for SC, a fumble ruled a TD against LSU and a blocked FG against Arkansas. Just all gut punches. Kind of sums up life as a State fan.

2000..... The Florida game and Auburn games that year were two huge games on campus that were a lot of fun. .... and then the balloon popped.... as Jackie would say.
edit to add: I forgot the USC game was before the Florida game. I just remember feeling like my dog died after the USC game but then the Florida game was an extremely hyped up game that we won.
Florida and Auburn played for the sec championship that year and we beat both.

We lost four games where we had multiple possession leads in the second quarter or later. All of our wins were blowouts for the most part, and we just failed at holding leads or that team could’ve been playing in the Sugar Bowl or national title game.
