So apparently Coach Vaughn at Ole Miss is committing secondary violations...

or really even know what it is you're talking about, but if it's secondary violations, the answer to your question is most likely nothing.

I thought secondary violations are bad.....guess I'm wrong. I would think that taking a picture of a kid and putting him on an Ole Miss poster would be a major violation or putting his name on an Ole Miss jersey...how can you be this dumb as a coach? <div>

so if they can help you land a player, they're not bad at all. In fact, they're good.

About the only negative they have is PR. See Orgeron/Kiffin. Having secondary violations reported in the paper a bunch can look bad, but the end results is nothing. The other way they can hurt is if you do commit other violations, and you have a track record of secondary violations. Then the NCAA likely won't be lenient with their penalties.

I saw an article at one point outlining how coaches will sometimes commit secondary violations to get a slight edge on a recruit knowing that it's a low risk proposition.

Like a lot of other things, they can be good as long as you don't get too greedy. Like you say, if you've got a lot of secondary violations and get caught on a major violation, you're going to get hammered.

I would assume USC fell into this category of questionable behavior and minor violations contributing to the way the NCAA handled their major violations.

I'd like to propose a new rule for the board: Everytime you intend the number seventeen, write out the word in letters. It's thanks to this board that I now misread anything with "17" in it, regardless of whether it's on the forum or elsewhere in life.

were on the Facebook pages of the recruits we took to the strip club a few months ago. I think it's way over the top to be that interested in recruits, but a lot of people are.

...just because people have done it in the past. Following recruiting is one thing, I guess, but there's just something awkward about facebook stalking seventeen year old dudes.
