wanting him to call him while Kailo was at Big Dog according to an article in the columbus dispatch. In related news, the bears have "attention *****" kemdiche, the top rated offensive player in the country (a rb from virginia), and the top rated juco OT in the country on campus this weekend. The worst program in the SEC headed up by a hc who was coaching in high school not long ago has the top defensive and top offensive recruits in the country on campus. I don't know what to make of it.

...they try to make us say negative things about our potential recruits and then they make some douchebag GA go and print stuff out or copy/paste stuff from sixpack (or insert other MSU websites here) and then show the negative posts to recruits. They want us to now start saying bad things about Kailo and then hope for the best come Feb 2nd. Oh and a little bag of cabbage or gift by the rebel club goes right "in-hand" with their tactics as well. Its typical douchebag tactics by the TSUN underground, black-ops recruiting machine, same verse but different year.

Who is "Fat Chuck"?

And what would he and Yancy have to do with Freeze continuing to recruit Moore?

You think Freeze is supposed to back off of Moore? Do you expect Mullen to back off of instate players he wants when they commit elsewhere?

I know the eggbowl.com theme is the norm now, but get a grip, man.

Freeze has 3 hour crootin meetings every day and has worked to get these recruits to visit, or we're paying them to visit. Obviously the latter makes more sense

In the fact that he is not supposed to stop recruiting Moore b/c Mullen hasnt stopped on that OL that was at our camp (name escapes me). The point you're missing is that Freeze had an all day long camp and instead of wrapping it up he made time to purposely message Moore during BDC to try to get him to call. Once again, that in itself is cut throat recruiting which I dont have a problem with. No one had any big dilemma with Orgeron. Everyone knew what he was. The reason Freeze encounters backlash is b/c he tries to come of like Billy Graham and then does things like that. Hypocritical...

Does things like what?

Are you suggesting that continuing to recruit or contact Moore while he is at MSU somehow says something about his faith? I guess I'm missing the correlation.

But he is a supposed to be this high character, morals, etc... type guy. The TIMING of the ploy is the issue here. He could have waited a cpl hours when he was gone. To be clear I personally dont give to much of a ****. Its like if you ran into a baptist preacher shitfaced at a concert. I have no issue with being a baptist preacher or being shitfaced but the 2 together kinda makes you cringe

Isn't mentioning a recruit by name in the media a recruiting violation?

That hasn't happened in this case.

The Columbus Dispatch mentioned Moore saying that Freeze had contacted him via a twitter message.

It is possible to message people on twitter privately.

Freeze's tweets are public. Anyone can look at them. He knows better than to mention a recruit in a tweet.

What a mean trick. I'm just glad we don't pay players. They just want to come to the nation's top college town and compete for a national title.

Mullen is shrewd. By being an atheist, he gets to spend his Sundays in all the right living rooms, showing recruits sketches of the upcoming national title trophy and some previews of what our new uniforms will look like this year. Changing our uniforms each year puts us on the cutting edge. Don't listen to the Bearzzzzz tell you it's Sun Belty and ugly. Recruits love maroon.

how does a rookie coach with virtually no major conference experience attract these big names to the campus. Also, he appears to be doing a pretty good job of getting some good commitments. Has anyone seen anything like this before? It's 'way too early to make a judgement but the only comparison I can make to Freeze is how Bobby Bowden first started out at Florida State. He was a nobody from Birmingham Southern or Samfordor somewhere and gradually started to gain traction.

I'm just glad we don't do that kind of garbage. Maybe we should since, the few good ones they steal from us are the reason we aren't beating Bama and LSU.

neither had ever been a hc before but both managed to pull in surprising classes early like freeze. the connection to all three, is that while they were low in coaching experience, they had all risen to the title of recruiting coordinator at bcs schools. It has and can be done.

he was at USC and also it didn't surprise me that he could get players fired up. Freeze doesn't seem like he would resonate with players; has he really been doing that well at recruiting?

He's going to find out eventually that isn't the best strategy for a place like Ole Miss. Why are people acting like this is a recruiting success? Getting kids to campus is great and all, but if they don't end up at your school, it means nothing. And neither Nkemdiche or Green is going to Ole Miss. It's like the WR from FL that was there, too. Great, Ole Miss made his 'top 5' list. Florida and Florida St. are also on it, meaning he's not going to Ole Miss. Meanwhile, you only have so much time and attention to give in every day, so it's costing them elsewhere. It's why Ashton Shumpert has barely spoken to them in the last month or two. You know who didn't show up there? Conner. The chance to say some elite recruits visited your campus may make fans like Yancy JITP, but it ultimately means little. They lost Moore and Mix, probably won't get Shumpert or Conner, won't land any of the elite OOS guys they're after, and we're supposed to believe this is all successful?<div>
</div><div>Orgeron made a ton of guys' 'top 5' lists. But he really didn't land a lot of elite OOS guys, and the ones he did get ended up largely being irrelevant. Most of his best players were lower-rated guys.</div><div>
</div><div>You can develop a strategy that will put you on the radar of a lot of guys and get some of them on campus and get them to mention you. And you may eventually land a few of them. But it's just one option. Our staff has taken a different approach, which is target specific areas and slowly branch out as you move forward. It casts a smaller net, but you're able to better develop relationships with coaching staffs and players. We also emphasize camps a lot. You may end up getting highly-rated guys, especially if some bigger schools see them more and realize they don't want them as badly, but if their rating isn't justified, you don't have much.</div><div>
</div><div>So far, Freeze's top commits are: a QB that wasn't going anywhere but Ole Miss; a QB who was ultimately deciding between Ole Miss, Kansas State, Oregon State, and Nebraska; a safety whose top offers were Purdue, Wisconsin, and Illinois; a JUCO DT; a pretty good RB from Memphis, where Freeze came from; and the 3rd best OL in MS. He's doing a fairly good job considering where they are as a program, but acting like he's tearing it up on the recruiting scene is ridiculous.</div><div>
</div><div>It looks to me like he's spending too much time and energy on pipe dreams and neglecting the guys he has a much better shot at. Again, at Ole Miss, that's a recipe for disaster...or at least for letting them wander over to your rival.</div>

In other words, UM steals the good ones and can't beat LSU and Bama either? That's even worse
