So do these games in Hawaii count?

I've never heard about the rule that so many on here have been talking about, and I haven't read a real explanation about the rule. So do these four games count or not? And if not, why even schedule them?</p>

when nichols skipped town, everyone wrote about how now we had the appropriate no. of games in 56.
Im pretty certain they count.

I thought I read on here in different topics that the games would not count or something, I just misunderstood. This clears it up for me:
