Mirando knew, did not tell "powers that be", Mullen.

Other SEC schools being investigated from info from 7 on 7 camps.

I want to know what booster didn't do a good enough job of covering their tracks if that is the case.

You forgot to add:

Wardlaw is a prick.

And Dick Cross had a hard on during the interview.

i would imagine it will come out right before the auburn game. it would be our luck to get more bad news right before we play the telling game of our season.

Based on what we know now, Redman will sit out this year and have to be reinstated by the NCAA next year. Nothing major should come out of this.

Well I think we already know Redman's penalty. He will have to sit out one season plus a third of the next season. Standard procedure on any MSU player with an eligibility issue.

After Cam Newton....

I have lost the ability to predict how the NCAA will react. I think all of us should wait until all of the facts come out.

why do we have such a hard time cheating just a little bit?

We get whole recruiting classes ripped out from under us while recruits from auburn, mississippi, etc. are on twitter and facebook with handsfull of cash and cars and nothing ever seems to come of it. But, let us buy a pizza or some piddling **** and major investigations crank up.

What a few of you have mentioned would be the best case scenario. Unfortunately, we all know that the ncaa hates our *** and if there's an example to be made, we will be the ones that wind up in the crosshairs. We should pray.

It's cause were just good, salt of the earth people who are honest and godly. It's ahrd to cheat and lie when you are use to being good to your family and friends. I don't blame Mullen. He hires good Christians but then they have to go out and fight against all these other coaches who are willin to tempt all the players with money and sex and who knows what else.

Hi, this is my first post here

but if I may ask a question, if this is just an investigation on the 7 on 7 guy, and so many other sec teams are involved, then why are we the only ones who have had a coach resign over it?

Cause we're overreacting and throwing our hands up. I wish Coach Mullen would just stand up and tell the NCAA to back off. I doubt we even did anything wrong. It was probably a tsun bear trying to get us in trouble.

Maybe we are just the first of more to come? Actually we might be second as auburn had their rb declared ineligible and he was on redmond's 7 on 7 team I think.

according to the last caller from Nashville this is not about MSU or even any of the schools that these kids committed to. This is about the benefits
a 7 on 7 camp provided to these kids. To the extent we are involved, there may be some proof that Miranda knew about the benefits and did not reveal them to the compliance officer, Brackey Brett. We certainly could be handed penalties due to his failure to report, but I'm thinking that this is a bit more far reaching than MSU and is, like the callers stated, akin to the NCAA's vendetta against AAU basketball.

I'd say we are in for some sort of sanctions, but I'd also say that it wont involve the loss of scholarships. But it certainly could. What most people who relish this news want to believe is that the INVESTIGATION itself will go on adinfinitum. Those days are over with Slive. This gets done and its going to be dealt with quite diffrerently than in the past.

Bingo

This year's 7 on 7 team includes:
Dodson(OM)
Carr(UT)
Reeves-Maybin(UT)

Last year's:
Kimbrow(Vandy)
Redmond(MSU)
Robinson(Au)
Walton(OM)

That's just the ones I know for sure about...

That fits in line with hearing OM had 2 players being looked into. Not saying they did anything or anything will come of it but I'm sure any player that ever played on that dude's team is probably be looked into right now.

Let's connect some dots in that picture. And remember this started last February.

February. The month that has signing day.

Why all this and why then....because some Tennessee booster is pissed that the stars of Tennessee were no longer beating a path to U of Tenn.

It fits.

You have just asked the question I have been asking for a long, long time. Why can't these mother17ers learn to play the game. It just isn't that difficult. But I'll be damned if they can figure it out. It boggles the mind that in this day and age of big time collegiate sports that somebody in our organization can't decode the system. WTF??? Dumbasses, all of them.

Also add these to last year's team:

Sheldon Dawson - Georgia

Cory Batey - Vandy
I'Tavius Mathers - Ole Miss
Chad Voytik - Pittsburgh
Will Gross - Memphis
Nate Cole - Cincinnati

This could get rather interesting...

In addition to the NCAA investigation I would guess from the original press release he had some other issues....They became much more serious after the NCAA details started to come out.....IMO

Yeah ...

that worked out really swell for Bob Tyler in the 70's. And, that was over a clothes store discout available to every student.

I actually think that Mullen asking Mirando to leave was a 'proactive' move and shows he is addressing the problem.

I wonder about the wording in all of the statements. Why was Mirando allowed to "resign" because of "personal reasons" if it had anything to do with this situation. It seems that if we were being proactive with the NCAA and getting ahead of any penalties, we would have "fired" him. Maybe the investigation was over and Mullen gave him the option to resign before the NCAA's decision was final.

Also, the words "potential recruiting irregularity" seem unusual as well. Matt said on OOB today that the department worked hard to release the statement with the proper language.

"recruiting irregularity"= recruiting violation
"Examination"= Investigation

the words used in the release mean essentially the same thing, it is just an abnormal way of stating it so all of the normal negative associations with words like 'violation' and 'investigation' are not conjured up
