So how does West Virginia do it with QB's

By all accounts that I've heard Morgantown isn't that nice of a place, the coach that made Pat White shine is in Ann Arbor, and their conference is nothing special.

Yet they go down and sign a 4-star QB from FL last year and this year they sign the #16 QB who is from TX AND #20 from Memphis.

Brunetti must either want to get really, really far away from mama or just have a massive man-crush on Pat White. </p>

Pat White is theirs. Now they can go out with "the next Pat White" pitch (and it works). You think Bill Stewart landed Brunetti or out-recruited Mullen? Nah - Pat White landed Brunetti, bottom line.

Michael Vick was V-Tech's.

Until we do the same, every other school is going to label us as a graveyard and we are going to have a hard time pulling QB's. We either need Russell to be our success story or you have to hope you find a diamond in the rough that has a stellar career.

They've also won 11 games in a year 3 times during that stretch of time.

Top recruits want to be part of a winning program first and foremost. If that happens to be WVU, then that's where the recruits will go. If we could just figure out a way to post a couple of consecutive 8+ winning seasons, we'll start winning out on these types of recruits also.

Plus, they had, and still have, an offense that lends to the QB as being the center of attention with his arm and/or legs. The QB has free reign to earn as many style points as he is capable of.

and that includes their bowl game. They did throw for about 60 more yards a game but I was quite surprised we had more rushing yards

I think he would be the starter right now. Remember- they wouldn't have had Croom coaching him down for a couple of years. I think without Croom, Relf would be able to throw a screen pass right now, and I think Dan and his buddies will teach him to do so very soon.

My thoughts exactly.

We sign good RBs most year because we've always had good RBs.

Once Mullen squeezes all the potential out of a QB that is capable of performing and gets an above average passing attack, we'll lure mo betta QBs.

Do these recruits not know about the QB's Mullen has developed? You would think we would be able to land a good one just based on that.
