@csabatka1 have you done many Morningside games? Just wondering because they usually don't have any problems putting points on the scoreboard. We saw then put up 80 last year.

I had them 3 times this year. Yesterday they just didn't look like themselves. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but sloppy on offense, defense, and a lot of penalties. They get up on teams fast and put them away quick.

Yeah, offensively they have been a juggernaut the last few years. Coach Lueders has a heck of a thing going on offense there. Coach Ryan has done great things with that program.

Congrats on your moment of fame. I was hoping that was you because you are the only member of that crew who looked fit enough to stay with the play. The rest seemed to be huffing and puffing behind you.

How long you been reffing? Ive been thinking about joining the referee crowd.

Here in SW Nebraska, they are so short-handed on crews of referees that all the high school games are not just on Friday nights anymore.

Now varsity games are played on Thursday evening, Friday afternoon, and then Friday evening.

If the refs also do Jr High (Thursday afternoon) and JV (Monday early evening), then one crew can ref 5 games a week.

The refs get paid like $65 (per person) a game for Jr High and JV games... not sure about varsity.

One of the longest tenured ref crews is going to retire in a year or two and this area will be that much worse off.

Anyone interested in being a referee or starting a referee crew should do it! It is much needed!!

Im im SW Iowa and I think they have the same issues. Had a head referee tell me and one of my other coaches that if we wanted to start officiating, he could get us started the following week. That was bout halfway through the varsity season. i can see why nobody wants to do it anymore with the batshit crazy parents they have to deal with these days.
