Don't know about a new dc

but I want Cliff Kingsbury as my OC. You talk about a cool, calm and collected.

But I guess having JM can make anyone look good.

Carl Torbush.

Promote our Co-DC. Hire whoever the top defensive line coach is in the south east as Co-DC and tell him at the rate we've been going he'll either get the job in a year because his superior will get hired away or in 3 years he'll take over because we'll can the other DC.

Seriously though, we have to have the most underperforming DL I've ever seen.

I think we've just grossly overestimated our D-Line's abilities. The only person who has ever gotten any pub is Boyd, and that's just as the and 1 in the Cox/Boyd dt slot during any mentions of Cox as the badass he was. It's also safe to say that Autry isn't on the same career trajectory as was McPhee. And the rest of our upper classmen couldn't shake a tree in the grove. The only player that I have seen disrupt the opponents line is Quay, and I know that he's not ready for a full rotation in the SEC but good god everyone else is just so weak.

I've watched Quay when he does get in and he looks so disruptive, why isn't he the starter? I guess like you said just not ready for the full rotation. There are also some players on offense that don't get enough chances to show there talent...(Nick Griffin).

I made a point about personnel yesterday and someone called me "ignorant" for not acknowledging they played 97 plays.

It's personnel across the board. Offense and defense, and every game this year. There's no excuse for Love to ever play. He sucks. And we have better freshmen.

Why is Cherrington starting? Why aren't Milton and Griffin getting carries? Why did Mullen leave Russell in for a QB sneak but put Prescott in on the next series to do the same play?

I just feel like Mullen and company are kissing *** or something. We've had 2 consecutive GREAT DL classes and none of them even play.

Mike Elko from Bowling Green

http://www.bgsufalcons.com/coaches.aspx?rc=352&path=football

Has a top 20 defense (total defense) and he also coaches special teams. Two birds, one stone. Boom.

Lance Guidry at WKU- another top 20 defense. I bet he knows how to stop a spread too since that's all they run in the Sun Belt except for WKU.

Brian Van Gorder will also be available soon I bet. He's at Auburn, but has also been at Georgia and in the NFL. Their stats are skewed since they have quit, but I still think he would be a great pick-up for us.

Sean Payton...Since his contract was voided by the NFL, I'm sure we could do some convincing to get him here

A lot of Auburn fans are hoping the next coach will retain Van Gorder. But I dont know if we could pay him even if he was available. I think he makes 700,000 a year, which is double Wilsons salary.

We'll have to wait and see what happens

Most coaches want to bring in their own coaches and I'm not sure if Van Gorder has a buyout clause or what it would be.

Elko, Guidry, and Lance Thompson would be the guys I focused on.

He's also an offensive coach

I know it's hard to tell with the crap that he runs. However, I have heard rumors that he is running the defense now after their stellar showing early in the year.

we're not getting either one. put the crack pipe down.....

some adjustments will be made, like getting rid of the 3 man front, but we won't fire the DC.

I was a huge buyer of Wilson up until these last 2 games. Let's play out the rest of the schedule and give him a chance to keep his job.

You have to have talent- no doubt

Tennessee fans say you'd better be careful if you go that route.

But I don't think talent is the issue with us as much as it is with Tennessee. That's what's frustrating to me- we don't utilize our talent and strengths on defense.

We return Quay, PJ Jones, Preston Smith, Nick James, and we add Chris Jones on the d-line. At LB, we have McKinney and Skinner coming back. We would need Richie Brown to step up as a freshman along with Bohanna at ILB if we ran a 3-4. Whitley will be a senior, and we have Justin Cox coming in. We're going to need one of our young CB's to step up next year like Cedric Jiles, Love needs to get better, Calhoun or Redmond. I bet Dee Arrington will be a safety as well.

I made a very similar comment the other day. It sure does appear that Dan has a preference for those guys that have been in the program longer as opposed to those that appear are entitled to more playing time based on productivity...let me also point out that if this is in fact his MO, its very Croom-esque.

Quay damn sure better have been suspended for aTm, because him not playing over Cherrington is a damn disgrace.

I don't buy this myth one damn bit. Quay was an early enrollee. You mean to tell me that he isn't any more prepared than that Gross kid from OM that didnt enroll until August and has made a pretty decent positive impact on OM's DL. ********.

Who would you want them to hire? Share your thoughts

Well its at least comforting to know that we have become such an elite program that we are ready to send our assistants coaches packing at 7-2. No, I am not happy at how we've looked the past couple of weeks but I think most of us would have taken 7-2 after the first 9 games when the year started and been quite happy about it.

Completely agree with this^^ comment. If he can blow up the OLine, he's "ready for the SEC". We've got 4 starters that are "ready for the SEC" that aren't doing what Quay does/ So what exactly does "ready" mean? He could not know the play calls and do better than what we did against aTm and Bama.

I'm borderline on this^^. Yes, we're 7-2, but if we get run over defensively again this week, I'm stepping into the fire him category. It's not the losses, it's how we're losing defensively. We looked clueless the last two weeks, and that is pretty unacceptable from a D-Coord with a few years under his belt and a decent amount of talent to work with. Even in a few of our wins against pansies our D looked bad. In my opinion, this weekend will go a long way towards determining Wilson's fate, and I know that sounds tough considering it's at LSU...but we aren't saying you have to shut them down. Just compete, play hard, and look like you have a 17ing clue of how to stop someone. If we compete and don't get run the 17 over defensively, then give him a chance to straighten it out. Bama and Manziel are not the easiest to prepare for, so I'm not giving up on him just yet. LSU is Much easier to prepare for, but very hard to stop. I just want us to be prepared and have a good game plan against them, and I think we will.

I would say no to BVG based solely on his 'stache.** dude looks like he should be driving an unmarked van or starring in a movie that starts with a pizza delivery guy showing up at some lonely hot girl's house.

please note the **

Agree it will be much more disturbing if we look lost defensively against LSU given that the LSU offense could easily be the weakest offense we will face in our last 3 games.
