I don't know the rules, but I remember something about being ranked in the Top 16. Looks like West Virginia is the Big East Champ, and they are ranked 23 while USM is 24. A win over a #6 team could catapult them, no matter how overrated #6 is.

I don't think USM will get in the top 16 of the bcs standings, however the Big East is terrible and USM/Houston is probably better than the Big Least champ. But I don't think USM or the Big Least champ would deserve the BCS bid.
