So is Les Miles still a better coach than Saban Coach34?

I'm so sick of the talking heads on radio thinking that Bama is not that good because they played a tough game in Baton Rouge. They really would like to see Oregon KSate despite the fact that neither of those teams has played an LSU caliber squad (whose oline problems are gone). This is a bad week to play LSU.

Bama is 31-4 the last 3 years...LSU is 31-5...Saban has won the last 2, so Saban gets the upperhand right now

Coach

if you wouldjust admit you are wrong on this, people would quit bringing it up every season.

they can bring it up all they want. Saban gets the nod right now because he won the last 2 H2H's,,,but the records speak for themselves- and there is reason they are both the winningest programs the last few years. Saban is 31-4, Miles is 31-5...and that's about how much difference there is between them

I would rather play them this week with them losing

rather than had they beat bama and have the sec west on the line.

This team had national championship hopes on the line for the season now 2 loses on the year, they didn't go to lsu to go the capital one bowl ...i expect to get beat by a flat and not very motivated LSU team

if they would have beaten bama, it would have been a beat down 3 weeks in a row

Agreed, losing a heartbreaker when there is a lot on the line is the toughest type of game to get over and come back ready the next week. However, at this point, given our recent performances, looks like they are enough better than us that it likely won't matter.

that's a good point. I was thinking of them being pissed off....

Straight up coach, you`re the AD at Texas and (hypothetically) can hire either one for the same money. Who do you take ?

If you go back 4 years (of course you wouldn't b/c it doesn't fit your argument), Saban is 45-4 and Miles is 40-9.

In the last 5 years, Saban is 57-6 and Miles is 47-14, quite a gap.

Most importantly, Saban might win his 3rd national title in the last 4 years and Miles hasn't won one in the last 5 years.

Miles is 84-20 in the SEC, with 1 NC and 2 SEC titles in 8 seasons

Saban is 112-28 in the SEC in 11 seasons, 3 NC's, 3 SEC titles

Literally the only difference is the ******** of Bama getting into the title game last year over Oklahoma St...

In other words

"I (c34) was wrong and admit that Miles is not the head coach that Saban is."

Thanks. That's what I thought you meant. I'm glad you finally figured out what most have been saying for the past 5+ years.

Has Nick Saban ever lost a game due to clock management issues such as not having the field goal team ready?

not THIS again.

Coach, you don't really think Oklahoma State was one of the 2 best teams in the country last year, do you?

Listen, *******. If there's anything I cannot stand, it's people misquoting....

regarding Nick Saban, Coach34 actually said:

"He has become a College Football Illuminati. He is transcending generations, bridging the years from The Deity that is Paul Bear Bryant, who also ruled the college football world. As every week passes and Denny Chimes begin to call it's next victim, scurrilous tenant farmers to the West and East tremble in fear. We can only hope to survive the Reign of Saban."
Coach 34 - November Second, Year of Our Dark Lord 2012

BTW - I always liked Kurt Rambis.

Bama was the best 1 loss team last year, no question, and LSU beating them was a fluke, which was proven in the title game. What's BS is that Miles only title came when they were a TWO loss team, one of the only 2 loss teams to ever win a title.

Those records are also a little skewed by the type of programs they took over. When Saban arrived at LSU, 7 of LSU's previous 10 seasons had ended in losing overall records, a 54-58 overall clip in those 10 years. When Saban came to Bama 3 of their previous 4 seasons ended with a .500 or worse record. When Miles came to LSU however, they were loaded with not only players but Bo Pelini and Jimbo Fisher as coordinators.

Also your last stat left out the SEC title and possibly national title that Saban is going to win this year. Not sure how Bama being "allowed" into last year's game makes up for a 4 title to 1 title discrepancy

Of course Miles isn't a better coach than Saban. But he's a very, very good coach. A LOT better than most of you guys think he is. He's arguably the 2nd best coach in the country. And this "LSU wins in spite of Les Miles" is just ********. They win BECAUSE of him.
