[h=4]Chris Jones text to me....[/h]
Chris told me he's taking unofficial visits to each school this week. Oxford on Friday and Starkville on Saturday.

"Then I'm going to have my mind made up off these last visits."

I really don't have a great feeling about this. Not hearing anything but I hope I'm wrong. Afraid some family members might be willing to take the last bidder if you know what I mean.

Nice, a good old fashioned cat-fight. One side is about to have some bragging rights, one way or the other.

his dad really likes ole mi$$[/QUOTE] Come on, y'all, insinuating he would only go to OM for $$ is an insult to his character. So another visit is about haggling for the price? We're shooting ourselves in the foot--actually head--saying stuff like this.

Give the kid some credit

Maybe we should give the kid and his family some credit. If he is being thorough, then he should explore his options, gather the information, and make an informed decision for him and his family. Obviously we hope he makes "the right" choice and becomes a Bulldog. However, the fact that he visited TSUN and may again should not necessitate conspiracy theories about gifts, etc.

If he is the kind of young man that we think he is, and he has a bulldog mentality like so many thought, then he will make a good personal decision. If he decides to go for the glitz, "look at me..I'm famous", or flamboyant stuff, then he probably wouldn't fit in at MSU. I don't think he's a showboat, and thus I believe he will choose MSU.

^^^^^CLOSET REBEL^^^^^^^

Get the hell out of here with your "exploring his options" bullsh!t.

You are on the wrong board with this post, kids that go to Ole Miss only want BJ from girls and their parents have their hands out. That is a fact. F-A-C-T.

Yet Robertson is saying Jones told him personally he is sticking with State

it almost makes me want to go back to the old days of watching college basketball during the winter instead of this crap.

I think you need to reread HD6's message pinned to the top of the board...

Carlos Thompson, Pat Patterson, Nick Brassell, Singleton, Moore, etc.

The list of high profile MS kids that Steve has been wrong on is much longer than who he has been right on.

He is still "committed" yet he is visiting oxford. Fri and state sat then will make a final decision. Im sorry but that is not a commitment. Its 50/50 at best. Plus I hear he is going back to Oxford to take momma this time which us not good for us. She has been our only hope and to me that just shows he is trying to get her on board with the idea of going to OM.

The funny thing about that thread on genespage is someone is complaining about another scout guy offerring news about Jones. If it would have been good news everyone would have praised him, but since its not good news they are mad he is involved at all. They are so wrapped around steves finger that they believe everything he says is absolute truth. Does the guy not realize that Jones most likely knows who Steve works for and is just telling him what he wants to hear? I would much rather hear from an impartial source than yancy or steve

What exactly is a bulldog mentality??

So there's the rub--OM is supposed to be the Party School, but the Mardi Gras antics may have offended some parents. And maybe they lose a few recruits from that. On the other hand, the party atmosphere attracts a lot of recruits who get treated like rock stars. This weekend, we even started talking about setting up a "Library" in Starkville, to get rocking ourselves. But you can't have it both ways. So which way DO we go? Nice, clean parties, I guess but from my experience either a party rocks, or it doesn't.

No, he's rationalizing, the same as he did in the chat last night. It's reverse Stuart Smalley.

I've never heard of any parents being offended in the 5+ years I've paid attention to recruiting so I'd go with the party.

He is bringing mama to Oxford for the first time Friday.

Well, what is Yancy saying? We know you know. Let's compare the two. I will agree that I believe nothing Robertson says. I do believe Paul Jones, though. Does anybody know if he's weighed in on the subject?

Theoretically...

If ole miss were to get Jones, along with all of their top targets which they're leaders for..

They would have the 1 and 2 prospects in the country, and a shitload more. That's UK basketball level recruiting. They would have more 4* and 5* commits in one class than team wins in the last 3 seasons combined.

If they don't end up investigated, it'll be as much of a travesty as the NCAA's ruling on cam.

I'm not always a fan of the "well they MUST be cheating!" without evidence, but if your school's name is ole miss, MSU, Vandy, or Kentucky, and you end up with a top 3 recruiting class in the country, you're 17ing cheating.

about gathering your facts BEFORE you commit but it always seems in January before signing day there is an attraction about OM for our top in state commits that wasn't there the 6 months before.

Yep... Freeze isn't some recruiting wiz and once-in-a-lifetime mastermind. If so, his classes at Ark State would have been off the charts by their standards and would have caught folks attention.

I'm holding out hope that Jones is messing around with the Rebels for kicks...

This is probably a pipe dream though. If I were in his shoes, I'd try to milk them for as much "stuff" as I could and then say, "see ya!" If he truly grew up a State fan, then there should be some hatred of that bunch in Oxford and a desire to screw them as best as he can.

Who am I kidding?! He'll probably sign with Ole Miss, and the Sixpack will go into a Chernobyl style meltdown February 6th.

Seriously, can you guys not see that Freeze just rode the Nkemdiche train to all this? This recruiting class is a typical Ole Miss class, a few MS guys, a bunch of out of state guys that weren't offered by their home school, and Nkemdiche. Even if they land Jones and Conner, those are Mississippi guys. Treadwell is a by-product of Nkemdiche and being a little bit overrated. They got lucky with Denzel Nkemdiche and rode that to this current class. Period, end of story. Their class next year will look just like any other Ole Miss recruiting class. I will be the first to say that the momentum helped them too, no doubt about it. They aren't even in the running for Jones if it wasn't for the other guys.

You have to credit them for taking advantage of a once in a decade situation. But there again, we don't even know if they finish with these guys. I'd like to say the odds are better that they don't, but the picture of them in the Ole Miss jersey gives a pretty big hint. Maybe not, I know teams do that all the time. But just sayin'.

It's more about Treadwell the recruiter, and every big 10 school backed off of

him because he had no chance to qualify and I hear it it is going to be a real
challenge at Ole Miss too. You would think guys could see past this kind of ******** but
kids will be kids*

Not anything that hasn't already been posted, but this isn't boding well for us. Maybe we can make it happen, but make no mistake - this is the biggest game of Mullen's career so far.

him because he had no chance to qualify and I hear it it is going to be a real

Academically, it's UM. They've been able to work bible-esque miracles when it comets to football player eligibility. ACT scores double overnight, GPA's jump in the mere blink of an eye. Hell, they even taught one player how to read in a week prior to an enrollment deadline. Maybe Freeze is the the messiah that has been destined to come in and cure the sick and heal the blind. This surely has to be within his abilities, especially after all of those miracles took place before he was anointed bear lord and savior!!

Let's be honest, you are shitting your britches at the thought of losing Mix and Jones, seeing Jones and Conner possibly sign with OM, and watching OM get even more publicity from a top 10 class.

That explains your silly post.

Tell you what. How about a loser leave SPS bet?

If Treadwell fails to qualify, I incur a lifetime IP ban from SPS.

If Treadwell does qualify, you incur a lifetime IP ban from SPS.

You and both know that you don't believe what you posted. You can show that you aren't a ***** by excepting the bet.

I know that some of your brethren here will encourage this bet on the chance that they never hear from me again. Are you confident enough in your "info" to accept it?
