So long, Rick. All in all, I've enjoyed your columns.

I'll miss your opinion, whether I agreed with it or not. USM fans will miss you most, because without you they will fade into oblivion...all 12 of them.

Seriously, I think the CL sports section will suffer without the Clevelands.

Edited to add: Enjoyed the final articles from both Clevelands this morning. If you haven't read them, go online and do so.

makes you mad as you read it. Rick was a talented writer and the Clarion Ledger will suffer.

Bobby on the other hand.........It will be interesting to see how this new guy works in articles on spinner baits and fishing for reds into the outdoor section in the middle of duck and deer season. LOL

expressing my disagreement with his opinion, he never would respond...time after time...I was courteous as well...good riddance. (I know....he wasn't obligated to respond.) I felt like he always had a subtle agenda.

...the loss of Rick and Bobby now make it completely useless. At least, being native to the state, they knew the lay of the land. They knew the coaches, culture, rivalries, and methods of Mississippi sports. Now we'll get what the C/L has been slowly inserting into the lineup for the past decade or better, some out-of-stater that knows or cares nothing about Mississippi sports.

Hell, look at the Monday paper now, it is next to nothing.

It is dying and this is just a quicker way to put it our of its misery. I still have it delivered and read it every morning but it has gotten to the point now that I usually laugh when I finish it. There is just nothing in it of any substance anymore.

I hate to see Rick gone. I rarely agreed with him but I can appreciate his style of writing and he added something different to the sports section.
