are you breathing easier about Brassell now that Bama landed a verbal from Bradley Sylve, the little blazing *** fast slot receiver out of Port Sulphur, Louisiana? This means they'll take maybe one more WR in the 2011 class and he will be a big body.

Of course, the conventional wisdom is that they are interested in Singleton for that last spot if they don't get the big *** mfer out of virginia, funderburke.

Oh, and go ahead and stick the fork in the Hat.

Unless you're a defender, O lineman or running back, I don't know why you'd go there. Other than to win national championships n ****.

Didn't they throw the ball like 8 times in the national championship game? How many TD's did Julio Jones have last year? Again, don't know but it couldn't have been many. Y'all really need a football version of Todd. Where the hell is Ronny when you need him.

their *** better be able to block downfield.

ETA: He had some pretty good ones at LSU: Michael Clayton, Dwayne Bowe, Early Doucet. I think he was responsible for Trindan Holliday, although he was gone before Trindan got to campus.

Don't tell the Hogs that Saban won a national championship with running and defense. You have to throw it a bunch according to them.

If you're a WR, no I probably wouldn't go to Bama if you want numbers. Saban has put out some good WRs, but he doesn't exactly offer a great deal of balls for receivers.

but its' getting late here in the Eastern Time Zone. Was Doucet one of his? Dwayne Bowe? Can't recall who recruited these guys. Although Bowe is a complete bust.

All I know is he's had some very good receivers over the years, but they don't do a whole lot since he's going to push for an offense that doesn't turn it over.

He's a defensive coach, and his defenses are always going to be so good that his strategy is always going to be to put pressure on the OC to play ball control and just not lose the game for him. That means his OC better like running the football.

I haven't worried about Bama at all in regards to Brassell. We'll be there in the end with Brassell.

Donte Moncrief is more likely to go to Bama if offered. However, Bama already has4 WRs committed and some athletes that could project there.

It's such a strong year for WRs in MS...Singleton, Morrow, Pinkston, Prewitt, etc. The whole south seems to be loaded with them this year. It should pay off for both of us.

As a SP guy, I want Brassell bad. At the same time, that is the position I'm least concerned with because we are in on so many good ones. In a normal year, we'd be hard after Tyriq Patrick who claims he grew up an OM fan. However, the way things are looking, I'm not sure we offer him. And I think he is a hell of a player.

I want a good QB commitment at this point.

chose USM & Bama to play football.

Don't get me wrong. Julio obviously has a NC ring to show for it, but it was probably a bad move for his future in the NFL. He'd have gotten betterexperiencein a Texas, Oklahoma, Florida or Georgia type system.

Deandre Brown has a severely broken leg and a couple of New Orleans bowls appearances to show for his brilliant choice.

I'm not saying these guys would have been much better off at MSU or OM, but they still could havemade better choices.

screwed the pooch.. that boy got some bad advice from some idiot who needed a new car and a bag of cash...a small bag at that. and no i'm not claiming to know anything but i'd rather folks think i took money than think i was stupid enough to sign with usm if i could have gone to ole miss or msu and in deandre's case a bunch of other big time schools...some things just defy explanation.

about the hat. i've got a bet with an lsu friend, made 3 yrs ago that he would last no longer than 2010 season. i'm highly conflicted. i'd almost rather be wrong and have to buy him the steak and round of golf to have miles stay at lsu. he's the best thing the sec west members have going for them, imo.

I thought USM promised him the possibility of basically being a partial qualifier if he couldn't get in immediately.

I don't know if they can even do that, but I can't see any other explanation. If it was a bidding war, no way USM would've won over Ole Miss and LSU.

Either way, DeAndre Brown should serve as a lesson to anyone in the state considering USM that has other options. DeAndre Brown should also be a lesson to Ole Miss and MSU as to why you don't play USM. If a recruit goes to USM now, he may still be able to make it to the NFL some day if he's good enough, but he's going to spend his career in purgatory with little to no exposure. As long as we avoid playing them, they will continue to get no exposure. If we play them, we increase their exposure. No need to help them out.

It was grades. That's all it was. Dude is dumb. Slept through an ACT, and when he did take it, I'm sure he scored below 24 on his English section.

I don't know how much longer he will even be at USM, as I've heard he doesn't attend class. At least at State or UM, we could have paid someone to do his homework.

Bama will lose two games this year: Penn State and Auburn. Remember, you heard it here first.

One of his former coaches says he plays this year and then he bolts for the NFL.

I don't see them losing to either of those teams. And both games are at home.

3 games to watch:

At Arky on 9/25

Florida at home on 10/2

At LUS on 11/6

I think there's a loss in one of those three.

I have no idea if it's true, but a lsu friend told me that his buyout will still be around $8MM after next season. If so, they may be stuck with that goofy 17er for another year.

which may be the reason he isn't going to class. He has the size and skill, but needs to work on the attitude towards the game.

cause the truth is, although he won't admit it, he knows miles is a loser. but you know those cajuns, he'll never say so till he's gone and they've "upgraded to the best coach in the ncaa". don't know who that is and he won't either untill lsu hires him...LOL

but i would never bet against saban to lose any game. going undefeated...again...is going to be tough, tough, tough, but with bama's resources, their willingness to, well, recruit creatively, and saban (who IMO is the best coach in college football), i would take bama straight up in any singlegame going forward till saban leaves. now i've depressed myself.......

a bit leery of him, but our folks on the coast kept telling them he would qualify. and usm has the same ent requirements as ole miss and state and frankly bama could get anybody in as could some of our other sec brethren. the kid got his nose out of joint when nutt didn't kiss his feet and made a dumb move.

the only silver lining for deandre may be that because nobody outside of hattiesburg has seen him play college football he may get drafted by an actual good nfl team late first or second round. if folks had actually seen him play..say in a cotton bowl or two, he might go higher to a terrible team.....just sayin'
