Did he not say that going to Houston was Renardo's choice? I could have SWORN that was what he said. Now he's saying it was his choice. Something isn't adding up. Renardo did NOT just go to Houston for weight issues.

Karl told us all about how he talked to someone in the AD's office, the decision was Sidney's and he wasnt required to go, Houston would have been more beneficial...blah, blah, ********

sounds like Sidney isn't on the team and has been required to complete some tasks prior to re-joining.

I told you when it all went down that it was Stans who told him to go to Houston. Sidney had no choice, either get it together or be gone. Nothing different was said today other than Rick was more tactful. Hopefully the plan worked and he will get the message about growing up and getting into shape.

is the changing of the story. Had he just done this in the beginning, it would be over now. Instead, with the story-changing now, it becomes an issue again and gets people asking questions as to why he had to go to Houston.

Of course, I cant believe anybody was stupid enough to buy the weight story in thefirst place...

He clarified it today because there were numerous rumors out there and Stans called John Lucas and asked him to help Renardo. Lucas was also in Starkville at Stans expense before the team left for Europe giving an update. Believe who you want to, all I know is Stans didn't lie and hopefully the final outcome will be Sidney grows up and the light bulb comes on. All the rest is immaterial no matter what the Stans haters want. I sent a message to patdog along these lines on July 30th but since you know it all, then you surely should have known it too.

You wouldn't have believed whatever came our of Stans' mouth. You'd simply spin it the f'ed up way you usually do.

Visited this week, with a relative that is a MSU grad, that works in the AD at another Univ., and he verified to me that Sidney was not required to go on the trip.

The out of season trips are voluntary. Please read this in DETAIL!

"Karl told us all about how he talked to someone in the AD's office"- Coach34 quoting Karl

"Visited this week, with a relative that is a MSU grad, that works in the AD at another Univ"

I didnt say which AD's office

"the decision was Sidney's and he wasnt required to go"- Coach34 quoting Karl

"Any out of season trip, such as this one, is voluntary by the student athlete"- Karl's quote

yep, words speak for themselves

"Houston would have been more beneficial"- Coach34 quoting Karl

"Sidney wanted more time with Lucas, knowing that would do him more good than five games in Europe"- Karl say

aGAIN, words speaking for themselves

the only quote from rick I can find about it was on sporting news, espn, and others.

"Renardo Sidney has returned to Houston, Texas, to continue
working out with John Lucas,” Stansbury said in a statement. “He will
not accompany the team to Europe next month, but he is expected back on
campus for the start of the fall semester in mid-August."
</p>Now I know that Renardo stated that he wanted to go back and was doing what was best for him but that doesn't really mean that he wasn't also told by Rick he had to go.

I still think that Rick let Renardo make the decision but can't find anything showing that other than Renardo's statements. Anyone else find any quotes from Rick implying that Renardo made the decision?

Renardo was told to go to Houston to take care of things. He was also told that it was voluntary, but his choice would determine whether he remained on the team.

Further, to help Renardo save face, he went with the "It is his choice story". Which in a way, is still not a lie. Renardo could have chosen not to go.

Finally, Renardo did not take care of things while in Houston. So now he is on double secret probation, and Stans ups the ante by letting it be known publicly.

I think I can see where Karl is coming from. In coach's paraphrase, he makes it seem that Karl knew someone that worked directly in MSU's AD office and confirmed to him that it was RSS' decision to forgo the euro trip and go to Houston.

In Karl's defence, I "think" he's against the notion that someone in MSU's AD department told him Sidney decided to go to Houston. A family member from another institution told him that Sidney could stay if he decided to. Since Karl's family member is in another school, the chances of him knowing intimate affairs at State is low, making the information he received only applicable in a general sense and has nothing to do with Sidney's decision.

When Karl made that statement that Sid decided not to go, I'm more or less making a conjecture that Karl only came to that decision knowing that an athlete could choose not to travel. That, in itself, wasn't a confirmation of sorts, it was more or less just an attempt at putting 2 and 2 together on Karl's part.<div>

The understanding that Sidney could not be required to go to Europe was my primary statement.
Anything else was just my dart board opinion just like everyone else, based on my observations.
There was no intention to indicate that any thing I posted was from the Athletic Dept.
No, I did not say some of this.

Gee Wiz,.... right now I don't give a hoot,

if you have not had enough, here comes more. There's constant drama with Stans, every year he makes it happen! His poor management of his players escalates into problems.

a complete and unequivocal NO NO NO (at least in this case, Stans is human unlike Coach34water99derhunter@auburn, everyone lies at some point).

He said Renardo was going to Houston. The fact that he didn't personally inform Coach34water99derhunter@auburn as to the reasons why, should not be germane to the situation.

I haven't been a big Stans fan either, I'm pretty sure that he needs to win this year, I believe he knows it too. Lets see what happens.

This is great because the sheep's asses are flaming. They could care less about facts, it's about Stans. We could play for the national championship and they still would want him fired. They are led to edgeby (c34) to jump off the cliff and they keep jumping. It's football season can't this till November?

In this article from July 22, Marcello says:
<div></div><div>
The decision was reached by Sidney, but came after Sidney, Lucas and Stansbury discussed the possibility of returning to Houston last week, Lucas and Sidney said.
</div><div><div>I get the whole "you go to Houston or you're not part of this team" so Sidney "chose" to go to Houston angle. But if it was Stans' decision, as he's currently adamantly claiming, then why couldn't he have said this when it happened? Instead, we're left wondering what the truth is and Stans' control of the team came into question...again.</div><div>
</div><div>So, business as usual.</div></div>
