At that point, shouldn't you consider changing your name. Schools they're rumored to be looking at are Boise, Air Force, Navy, East Carolina, Central Florida and maybe SMU and Houston. I'm not sure the CUSA schools might not be better off staying in CUSA and trying to get a BCS bid for the CUSA/MWC title game winner (they're working on a deal to have the 2 conference champions play in a title game hoping to get a BCS bid for the winner).
So the Big East is considering inviting Boise St. to join for football only.

The Big 12 now has ten teams and the Big Tennow has 12, and had 11 fora coupledecades until recently. So I don't think conference names mean a lot anymore, geographic or otherwise. Even look at the WAC, who includes LA Tech.patdog said:
