openly or behind closed doors? I think they (NCAA) already have credibility problems and if I were them I`d be public with my handling of Slive. If you think the rest of the college football world has their head in the sand about this I think you would be wrong.
I just believe that's the way Dan wants to play it and it is admirable that we do have a coach with integrity. If we were going to buy players we sure as heck wouldn't have let Cam get away from us last year. Don't know if we would have paid the initial asking price but we certainly could have brokered a deal with Cecil. And I don't believe we are somehow "playing it safe" this year until Camgate dies down. Our leadership (Dan and Scott) I firmly believe have just sincerely made a commitment to try and run a clean program regardless of what might or might not be going on around the rest of the SEC. Hopefully we can still get enough talent this way to maintain a consistent winning program. Once we establish that I think our recruiting will pick up even without any extra shenanigans.
I agree with your post and believe that if we were going to buy players, it would have started with Cam.
