Those of us that don't see things as "yay we beat Bowling Green by one!!!1!!1, a win is a win!!11!!"....get it. And you make a great point. If you know football and are watching the product our coach is putting on the field right now.....you can see that the writing is on the wall.

Supposedly the team has had a chip on their shoulder this week in practice, so hopefully we can turn this **** around starting this weekend.

I guess at some point when everyone in the SEC passes us by, the excuses will either run out, or people like you will be saying "guys, we weren't favored in a single SEC game, so we won the 4 games we were supposed to win against the SWAC....no other Coach in our history has won all of the games he's supposed to win like Mullen!!!1!"

Where does the "he is beating who he's supposed to beat" **** stop? At what point is he supposed to beat some better teams in this league? I've never seen a fan base with such ****** expectations in my life.

good idea. I would want them on campus when there will be some atmosphere. Mizzou is currently 40 and they never seem to have highly ranked classes. I think they are the new poster boy for "recruiting results don't matter (when your coach can identify the players that fit his system and develop them)" mantra. I see UK's recruiting being a flash in the pan type thing. I doubt they continue the momentum w/out some wins.

It's a big problem. 2015 isn't shaping up very well for us either. I understand there is along way to go, but we're on the outside looking in with a number of guys at this point. We were saying that about the 2014 class as well, and we never were really in the running for several top players instate this year (Rod Taylor, Speeks, CJ Hampton, Pack, Voohries)

When you can't host them for the first two SEC games -- compromises have to be made.

Otherwise, I guess, you could just not host them at all. Bama is the ONLY logical SEC game for OVs for us...

If you're concerned now, just wait till February. Our ranking will only go down. This class is basically full. I can't see us signing more than 20 players... we don't have the scholarships available. Other schools will pass us as they fill up their class.

The only way it gets any better is if some of our guys get bumped up a star after the season is over.

The good news is we shouldn't have any immediate needs next year. We've got our QB for the future, tons of RBs, WRs, LBs, DBs, DL. Shouldn't be hard to replace Siddoway and hopefully we've found another guard in Clayborn to go with Malone. I just hate the fact that it appears we've got a few very average recruits in a year when we didn't have many spots open. You'd think we'd have been more selective and targeted a few big names.

I can say at least we 17ing tried to win, instead of being pussies that are okay with beat 4 SWAC teams every year because we are poor lil ole State.

Seriously though, would it be that hard for Hudspeth to at least match Mullen? Beat the cupcakes and lose to EVERYONE that is equal or better? And even if he can't, like I said, are you content with not ever trying, and continuing to be passed by teams like Vandy, Arkansas, Kentucky, Ole miss, etc?

Even those sure fire wins are getting a little closer this year. If Market doesn't make a big play against UK, we lose. If BG makes a catch that hits them in the chest, we lose. Next year, UK will have more talent and will likely break that tackle. Think about it

It seems to me that the rock is rolling downhill with Mullen -- and once it starts, it's extremely hard to stop it.

I just don't agree that this is the best we can be. I think right now that if Mullen was still the same coach he was in years 1 and 2, we win 10 last year, likely win one of the OK State/Auburn games, end up with a very close loss against LSU, and are in the others receiving votes category for being ranked right now. It might not translate to the win column much differently, but relentless effort by itself is worth making a change IMO unless Mullen somehow finds it.

There will be hope and optimism there every time there is change -- and those two things sell the hell out of some tickets. That's the bigger reason I can't see us taking our sweet time with this situation like we have in the past.

My hope isn't so much that Hudspeth is night and day better than Mullen as an on-field coach that's going to actually take us to championships. It's that he's a better motivator that'll never quit on a school that he loves and much, much better recruiter, which I believe probably is enough to raise our ceiling 1-1.5 wins.

There's no legitimate excuse for KY out-recruiting us, or for Vandy and OM out-recruiting us and having better teams that look like they give a damn - other than Mullen and his staff just aren't worth a greased turd.
