Mamdani focused on affordability and won because of it. Most people don’t care about more abstract politics.

The lesson for Republicans is that you’re going to have a problem with Trump promising to make things cheaper only for them to get more expensive.

This. People vote with their wallets. What Trump is doing is going to drive up inflation and slow down growth. The reductions in the Department of Ed are going to have a huge impact on lower income/lower educated people who rely on those services.

He doesn't care, and we can all argue the merits of the reductions, but voters are selfish and vote with their bank accounts.

Why are you unconfident Ned?
yes I don't think republicans have a lock on 2026. There are too many unanswered issues right now. We've seen the affordability issue, but we also have healthcare, immigration, inflation among others that Trump, in the minds of voters, has not solved.

Who cares, those four states are borderline brain dead. California is a disaster, NYC is going to elect a Muslim socialist, VA has a candidate for AG that openly advocated for the MURDER of his opponent and their CHILDREN. Idgaf what happens to any of them. I hope they get what they deserve, I have nothing in common with any of them, don’t want to see or hear about it and do not care. I just hope they get exactly what they deserve, that’s my only interest.
It should be noted that those 4 states generate almost 1/3 of all Federal Taxes generated in the entire country.

Hey so, everyone hates Trump. They hate MAGA. There is no Trump train. The United States, including its biggest and most important city, have completely rejected your "conservative christian ideology" as you call it, which is actually just facism.

Enjoy the next few years before MAGA and their ideology fades into oblivion

OK JESUS WAS NOT THE MESSIAH BUT A FASCIST

YOU GO WITH THAT

I WILL STICK WITH MESSIAH

Taxed into oblivion. Trump tariffs are already doing that. Rampant corruption. Trump family grifting already in overdrive. Zero accountability of leaders. Good thing GOP legislators are so adamant about preserving legislative branch prerogatives and checking executive branch excesses. Repeat offenders on the streets. Many of them pardoned by Trump. Needles and feces covered sidewalks. Here’s what I’d tell them - look at Chicago, Oakland, San Francisco, Portland - does that look like a wholesome place to live? You've never been in any of those places, so your comments are based on culture ware videos televised by Faux News and posted on alt-right web sites. I live near Oakland and San Francisco, and can tell you that there are parts of both cities that are afflicted by homelessness, crime, and drug abuse, but there are much larger portions that are not, and are very nice places to live. This is borne out by real estate prices. I have friends in Portland so I'm there visiting once or twice each year, and the same can be said for Portland. That’s what you just voted for. A classic fafo. Enjoy. I know I will enjoy watching it lol.
Where was it you said you lived? Somewhere in rural South Carolina (which means anywhere in South Carolina)?

Bro NC is probably the most liberal state in the south. It’s ridiculous. They’re finding out real quick that it doesn’t work either. They’ve had a rash of released violent criminals in NC and specifically CLT attacking and even killing people recently. Asheville and surrounding areas are full of leftists as well.
This ^^^^ obviously explains why ten (10) of North Carolina's House members and both of its U.S. Senators are Republicans. Thanks for weighing in. LOL.

NC has nothing but RED in the state house of representatives. So wtf are you even talking about?

To add what you wrote with 20/20 hindsight

The elections went exactly as expected

The part I am interested in is now Mamdani has the reins to the city I am going to enjoy his MIRACLES he will work to take money from 50% of the population to enrich the lesser successful 50%

I am expecting a massive voting with the feet as successful people flee from the new governance in the coming months if it is enacted
Palmetto: C'mon now. Relax. Mamdani is a mayor. He's neither a president nor a governor. As such, his ability to implement his vision is pretty damn limited. The laws that NYPD enforces are largely made at the state level. The courts are state courts. His power to levy taxes is pretty minimal compared to state and federal government. All this conservative wailing and gnashing of teeth about it being "the end" for the City of New York is laughable.

Looks are deceiving because that was only a 1.47% margin of victory against "the worst candidate of all time." One of the smallest margins of victory since 1900 and now in less than a year, he is historically unpopular and it's getting worse so don't get stuck in November 2024 because that ship has sailed. The majority of the electorate regrets what they've done.

LOL... Looks are not deceiving. I mean, LOOK who's in the White House, and WILL BE for 3 more years.

I know you need some good news, but democrats winning in democratic states and cities isn't exactly earth shattering.

But hey, you do you..... I understand how desperate some of you are.

Democrats winning by actual landslide margins, including red states like Georgia and Pennsylvania is a preview of what's to come, whether you ackowledge it or not. We will take the House and put the brakes on his authoritarian takeover and hopefully kick him out on his *** via impeachment long before his term is scheduled to end.

The millions of marchers, the polls and the landslide victories all tell the same story - America hates Donald Trump and the 37 percent of hard-core taint-lickers that treat him like a deity. It won't be long before the Republicans in Congress turn on him too as they witness the groundswell of opposition that wants him gone.

Of course things could improve, but at the moment we’ve got what we’ve got. If the tariffs have a benefit, it’s going to be more of a long term deal. People aren’t inclined to think about that at the polls whether it’s right or wrong.

The markets have adjusted well enough with the tariffs apart from Trump’s randomness. There’ll be some correction for other reasons

The narrative that there was nothing to see here because the Dems were supposed to win Tuesday night is again not being shared by some notable MAGA types.

I see we have some engagement from the resident leftist. Great. Here’s some more info to share.

The following states “affirm you identify” by having you sign a piece of paper. CA, D.C., HI, IL, ME, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NM, NY, OR, PA, VT. No ID, no piece of mail, no credit card, just write an x on the paper and you can vote. It’s comical to watch the leftist crowing about their “win”. Anyone can win when they cheat and lie and deceive.

• Of the 15 Democratic trifectas, 11 have no ID requirement at polls.

• Of the 23 Republican trifectas, 20 require photo ID.

Recent trends show Republican-led states passing stricter laws (e.g., 10 states amended voter ID rules in 2025, mostly tightening them), while Democratic-led ones focus on expansions like automatic registration.
causation is so hard to understand if you're a retard.
