Born in May 1963. My dad has an old 8-mm video of my mom holding me in the foreground and President John Kennedy in the background as he toured San Antonio on Nov. 21, 1963. As his party drove by, my dad commented to my mom that there was no security and that anybody in the crowd could just shoot the President. The very next day, someone did in Dallas.

I was only 6 months old.

ETA: And if my dad has any old 8mm videos of that day, he's sure as hell never shown them to me.

Then on 10/25/80 I saw Alabama - 42, Southern Miss - 7. I had planned to go to the MSU-Bama game on 11/1/80, but after seeing those 2 games, I decided to stay my *** at home and avoid the pain of that ***-whipping. So I missed one of the greatest upsets in MSU history. On an even sadder note, upon returning from the Bama-USM game, I learned that one of my dad's best friends had died of a sudden brain aneurysm that day.
Mississippi Southern spanked us pretty good that day. But I did see the AL upset, most enjoyable win ever.

I don't remember the year but it was in the early 80's a buddy of mine got me a student ticket. I was about the right age and got in. I saw State beat the Miami Hurricanes after about 75 defenses against the hail mary in the endzone. Great game and we won! I was fan since the 70's when one of my cousins played at State. He was pretty good and made all SEC his jr and sr years and 2nd team all-american his sr year. He even made the Miss State Hall of Fame a few years back. I have been a fan since he played.

My next game was Vandy 2008.

So....you're welcome.

Also, I must say that it's an odd feeling being in a stadium full of people losing their **** and 100% not caring at all.

I was at the Auburn vs Ole Miss game in Auburn for that 5OT epic the next year after Tuberville left. Great Game! I loved chanting the Florida State Chant cause Tuberville bought them out. I really didn't give a **** who won but it was a great game. So, the favor was returned!

I was 9 years old. Tay Galloway was a beast that day. I remember Albert Williams taking a pick to the house from like 75 yards just before halftime. I don't remember **** about Tony Shell but I remember that he was the QB. There were people sitting around us arguing about whether or not to keep Felker. I thought beating LSU was no big deal then because we beat them the next year also. We've beat them 1 time since then.

State beat Tennessee in Starkville 7-0. It was Tennessee's only loss of the season, but the Vols still won the national championship, one of several General Robert Neyland won. I was just short of 3 years old, and my mother and father were students at State. They have pictures of me at the game with the scoreboard in the background. "State 7 Visitors 0"

I was 7 and really don't remember **** about the game, but I apparently kept asking my dad which one was William and which one was Mary.

He loves to tell the story to embarrass me, so that's the only reason I remember that I was there. I do remember the next game vs. UGA that year because they were the "other bulldogs".

The thing I remember most about that game was theweather. There was major wind storm with rain, thunder and lightning. If played today that game wouldhave been suspended.

The game you saw was in 1978. State beat Tennessee in Memphis 34-21. In 1979 anSMU transfer, Tony Black,( from Starkville by way of Weir) started at quarterback and led the Bulldogs to a 28-9 win over the Vols in Memphis. Black was a junior in 1979 and in 1980 he was John Bond's understudy. If you watch the Youtube highlight of the 1980 Alabama game (the one with the captains and the coin toss) you will hear Jack Cristil introduce the game captains which included Tony Black. He was the holder that day for both of State's field goals in the 6-3 win over the Tide.

Nice and hot pre-game. Thunderstorm comes in and seems to "sit" right over the stadium. Sun comes out in 4th quarter for some serious sauna-like conditions.

It was my 10th birthday. It was the game that prompted Shug Jordan to start a campaign to outlaw the cowbells. Auburn won, but there was a terrible call on a TD catch right in front of my seats.

He was in bounds.

I was only 11 and had never even heard of "Mississippi State" before that. My dad had a friend who was getting a masters at Auburn, and we got tickets to the game. I thought that since they were playing a team from Mississippi, we'd be seeing Ole Miss. I was wondering why the team had Maroon helmets instead of blue, and someone told me they were "Mississippi State, not Ole Miss". Oh, really?

The main things I remember from the game:

-Jordan-Hare was cold as a *****'s heart on one side of the stadium, but when we walked to the other side it warmed up about 30 degrees.

-Sitting near the student section, the marijuana smoke was thick. No wonder I didn't see my 12th grade brother in the second half.

- After Auburn kicked an extra point, someone wearing a red (or maroon) jersey caught the ball, then proceeded to run out of the stadium.

- I was rooting for Auburn because my dad's friend was an Auburn grad student at the time.

The first game I saw where I was rooting for State was 1980, when State beat Auburn 24-21, partly because former high school teammate Jerry Gillikin stuffed Joe Cribbs on 4th and goal.</p>

I was 5. I remember how loud the cowbells were. I thought Ole Miss' unis were cool. That's about all I remember.

The year started with several wins, we lost this one and didn't win another, the team song was, Dave Clark Five's "Catch Us If You Can".

I was rooting for Ole Miss and waving a Rebel flag. The next year I was in the MSU section and again waving that dang flag.

My older brother was looking at Ole Miss before we moved to Mississippi from Up North, so as soon as we moved here we were all OM fans. A couple years later, when I was a junior in HS, I decided I was going to attend State and I've been a State fan since.

All correct, except that it was 1970, Charlie Shira's only winning season, and the first year of the 11 game season. (OK State was our 11th game.) David Smith set a school record with 12 receptions. TT tried to cover him with a linebacker the entire game. I was there too. It may have been my second State football game.
