So who do we go for between Auburn and LSU?

Sorry if this topic is Germanic as well as being on the week of our game with A&M, but I'm seriously curious about what everyone else is thinking. Even though I hate Auburn with a passion, I can't decide if it benefits us if they lose or not. If LSU wins, that will not only make our win against them look that much better (regardless of our score with A&M), but chances are good that Auburn still won't fall out of the top 15 when we play them and it also makes the race in the West a bit more wide open.

I only feel that Auburn winning helps us out just because that means we'll have a top 5 team that will come into Starkville that I believe we match up fairly decently with. But I only see this really helping us if we beat A&M. With all that said, I think I'm leaning a bit more to LSU but I can still see Auburn winning paying off for us in the long run if things line up. Thoughts?

I want Auburn undefeated when they come to Starkville... Ideally, Id like to see them and LSU play a slobber knocker that expends a lot of emotional energy.

Lsu. The goal is to win the west. After we beat a team, we should want them to win

I'm thinking about it like this: Whoever wins the West this year is probably going to cream whoever wins the east. Whoever wins the SEC is going to the playoff regardless of how many losses they have. So I'm rooting for everybody in the west to go ahead and get a loss and the whole ranking thing is secondary as long as we keep winning.

I realize playoff talk is craziness, but if we are talking about what we are rooting for, obviously that's what I'm rooting for.

That's pretty close to how I'm looking at it. Rankings probably matter a bit more for me, but I feel that with how tight the West is, as long as teams are sharing wins/losses then no team will really fall too far out of the rankings. Worst case scenario is that the SEC cannibalizes itself and hurts everybody's chances of getting into the playoff, but I don't believe that's going to happen.

We need LSU's help about as much as we need a rag doll

After we escape tAm, we will also dispose of Auburn.

K St should have done it.

Book it!

Im going to come off sounding like a loon... But I totally agree. I think we out shoot A&M, then dominate Auburn much like LSU.

/feels strange typing that.

We want Aubie to win in a close, emotionally draining game like A&M had last week.

Brings them in tired but undefeated, leaving them ripe for the culling.

lets not get into some dumb argument about this. you can root for a team, but the reality is, it doesnt matter and things will play out the exact same regardless of who we choose to root for. just keep that in mind. dust in the wind and whatnot.

Has there ever been a game between 2 top-15 SEC teams that no one cares about as much as LSU-Auburn? Makes no difference to me who wins.
