if you committed a crime and they put you in the wrong prison. Especially if your crime was something like tax evasion or something like that.

At the worst I would think he may have to go to the RID but I would suspect that he can get out with a hefty fine and lots of probation. As far as I know Maurice is a first time offender.....and a dumb bastard.

I assure you that if he's convicted of possessing a pound of herb with intent to distribute (which he will because he had a f'n POUND)...He's going to prison. Just be glad he didn't get to spend to much time around the rest of your team.

they'll probably give him a chance to plead guilty to something less serious, go through a program and not see any jail time.

intent to distribute often ends up as felony possession if no sale actually took place. However, the problem is his status as an athlete and the local DA's desire to make an example out of an MSU football player. If he were a random kid with a pound, but no record, I doubt he'd do time. I guess we'll see.

If we were only talking about an ounce or two, I would agree with you - A pound puts your *** in a different catagory. He is going to be charged with a felony and he could do some substantial time.

********. I have known a couple of people to be arrested with a pound of pot and they got probation. The prison's are crowded enough to be throwing every person arrested with a pound of herb in jail. A lot depends on the county obviously and if he has a prior record, but I would be shocked if he spent anytime in jail
