Solid work from LSU DE Montgromery at the Combine..

In his Combine media interview, LSU DE Sam Montgomery admitted to betting in college and taking games -- not plays --games off when the Tigers faced lesser opponents.
Montgomery should know that telling the media things like this is not smart. At all. "Some weeks when we didn't have to play the harder teams, there were some times when effort was not needed," Montgomery said. "But when we had the big boys coming in, the 'Bamas or the South Carolinas, I grabbed close to those guys and went all out." Montgomery detailed "hundreds of dollars" in bets with teammate Barkevious Mingo, including one for $5,000 on which LSU defensive end will be drafted higher. We'd wager -- heavily -- that it won't be Montgomery. Draft insider Tony Pauline reported late Saturday that LSU's coaching staff has been "slamming" Montgomery to NFL teams.

The strength coach at LSU posted a sign on his window basically saying he's lazy and a terrible teammate about halfway through the season.

He's been in discussion for the Saints. God I hope it doesn't happen.

[FONT=Tahoma, Calibri, Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif]They've been "slamming" him for awhile now. Maybe this is why guys have been leaving there early at a higher rate than normal.

Yeah, and look at this: "Draft insider Tony Pauline reported late Saturday that LSU's coaching staff has been "slamming" Montgomery to NFL teams."

I think there are some very real internal issues in BR right now.

I have had the opinion for a long time that something about louisiana or baton rouge or lsu breeds underachieving shitheads. Until Saban took over there, lsu never could sustain any kind of success. And considering the advantages they have, being the only school in the state and all of the talent over there, something just isn't right.

Yeah. It doesn't sound like he was alone on that team in betting and taking plays, and games, off. This could get very ugly.

That explains how we played them so close.

If you think back- it kind of does

They didnt touch Russell all nite until both times we were in the red zone in the 4th Q. That was a different pass rush than what he faced ealier in the game and even earlier in those drives

He's raised his draft status with both the Cowboys and the Raiders.

Totally agree that there's a funny smell (other than corndogs) over in BR now. Half the defense left early, and while I get it with some, many of those guys are going to get buried deep in the draft, and could have used more time to develop and raise their stock. I don't get the rush unless something (other than Miles being nuts) is wrong with that team.

Pleeeeeaaaase let this happen:

He's raised his draft status with both the Cowboys and the Raiders.

Dallas Cowboys: Sam Montgomery, DE, LSU

The Cowboys hired Monte Kiffin and are moving to a 4-3 defense. Anthony Spencer said he would love to play the defensive end position across from DeMarcus Ware, but that's probably not going to happen because Dallas doesn't have the cap space to re-sign him. If Spencer does leave, Dallas may use this selection to find a new complement for Ware. Sam Montgomery makes a ton of sense at this spot.

Yeah so he would fit right in with this Dallas team. just start showing up late for every practice and give 50% effort on the field. He needs some huge diamond earrings, and pal up to Jerrah where he never gets reprimanded for anything. done deal to Cowboys.

Best part about the quote:

"Of course, this is a new league, the NFL and there are no small teams, small divisions. It is all Alabamas and LSUs every week. It's definitely something I have to get adjusted to, but I'm sure with the right coaching I will be fine."

Say what? Les is the best coach in college football (at least better than Saban).
