If you're not aware, somebody called in a bomb threat to Madison Station Elementary yesterday during morning dropoff. They closed the school, put everyone who was there already on buses and sent them to Ridgecrest Baptist Church for pickup, and stayed closed once police cleared the scene.

This morning, another bomb threat was called into Madison Station at dropoff, and as a bonus, they called one into Ridgecrest Baptist as well.

Turns out posting everything that you are doing in an emergency event on social media isn't the best idea. On the off chance that the person is local, then I suppose local media would be an impossible problem to solve but my bet is on an out of state crazy just being disruptive.

Certainly not impossible but I was guessing a local teenage boy being an idiot.

also a possibility. never underestimate teenage boy stupidity. when I was in HS, we often had bomb threats from kids wanting to get out of school for the day. we got walked outside, at most, school was walked through by cops, then we went back in. I can't really envision someone who really wanted to harm people announcing it thus ensuring that he did not harm people, but who knows...

I get that thought and not saying it’s wrong but at this point social media is the most efficient way to communicate with that many people and tell them where their children are being taken to.

Why does my conspiracy-aligned brain think that this and the "Republican" outrage on HB2 failing are related?

I assumed the first one was. Two days in a row doesn't sound like a teenage prank anymore. Very doubtful that there is any real danger, but the person responsible does have real issues and needs to be locked up for life.

For the record, if the 2 are aligned i still hope whoever did it gets what is normal by law. And, if normal is little to no punishment, I hope they get worse than normal.

I thought doing a second threat and including the secondary location kids were moved to sounded like something a teenage boy with too much faith in his VPN and whatever random voice over IP service they are using would think was hilarious.

Certainly could be a copy cat also. Making guesses, not predictions, but if they are not asking for anything or threatening anything, seems like "normal" but crazy over the top **** stirring behavior that could be a local boy or a troll that spends too much time on the internet.

guessing this is the same person and someone that has a strained relationship with either a teacher or the recent seperation from the mother of the child there, just my gut guess on this behavior

I bet it was some Madison resident who is fed up with car line traffic.
Reminds me of the episode of that British comedy "Mr Bean". He was at a restaurant with a long waiting list and wanted to impress his date but didn't want to wait so he pulled the fire alarm and they went straight to the table while everyone else ran. I'm not much on British comedy but Mr Bean and Benny Hill can make me laugh

I believe each offense is a felony so this is setting up to 30 years in prison once they catch this person
Not if you're an TSUN alum and get a favorable judge

no its not. All you need is contact numbers. You can gather that up in a second.

My wife gets recorded messages all the time from every school she has ever worked from the Superintendent about all kinds of things.

They have the technology they just don't use it.

We are out of state, but just this morning, some kid falsely reported having a weapon.

Before I started there, Hammond LA Sanderson Farms plant had a bomb threat because the woman didn't want to come to work and already had too many absences that she would be fired. Ended up not being a good idea.

You think a social media post is quicker than direct communication? You know that can be automated as well, right?
It’s my understanding that parents were notified multiple ways. Email, phone and social media. Maybe someone with kids at that school can confirm. My kids are the other elementary school in Madison.

Im in favor of the school district notifying parents in every way possible. That’s exactly what I would want if this happened at my kids school.

Assuming they have not caught this a-hole yet. They announced this afternoon that Madison Station would be closed tomorrow as well.

Crazy. Surely the technology is there to trace this little bittch and make him pay.

This is all accurate. Both my wife and I were notified via text, email, and an automated call.

That would have to be personal because if you are looking to make a big impact media splash, I wouldn't think the Eupora hospital would be your target.
You never know...

My dad was a school superintendent. You wouldn't believe the amount of stupid crap that happens that is never reported. Bomb threats usually come in very early before school and most people never know a thing. I remember being alarmed over one that called our house. Dad said that it's just a kid trying to get out of school, so he and the police would search the building and things moved along no problem. Schools probably have at least 6 per year these days if I had to guess. FYI, no bombs (or weapons of mass destruction) were ever found.
