The guy DIDN'T WANT TO BE HERE ANYMORE. I think he made that obvious the last couple years he was here.

I don't know if Riley is the answer, but I do think that Bo needed to go and he was relieved when he was finally cut loose.
Irrelevant.

Bo is gone.

Riley is here.

Let's focus on our current problems, shall we?

We are past that...just got our azz handed to us by Purdue.... you don't know if Riley is the answer? Seriously? you have Any confidence this guy wouldn't choke a perfect season away to an inferior team? Zero confidence in this guy, until proven otherwise

I mentioned this in another thread. He didn't want to be here, and he didn't have it in him to work as hard as he had to make Nebraska great. We wanted to go somewhere else where he felt it'd be easier to be great. He overstayed, gained a reputation, and now no P5 school will take him. At least not for a while.
Are you a psychic? Did Bo tell you that? He had a chancellor and AD who wanted him gone. How would you react to that?

And why did they want a 9 win coach gone? Becuase he acted like an ***? He embarrassed the school? He rarely beat anyone with a pulse? Had a losing record against ranked teams? Usually lost at least 1 game a year against a team he shouldnt? He didn't work at recruiting over the summer? He floated his name for Ohio State, Penn State, Miami?

Bo's actions spoke loudly. He was asked to act like a leader. Amazing he couldn't comply.

Perlman wanted him gone after aTm 2010. How many teams have winning records against ranked teams? Were you in Lincoln to see him loafing in the summer!

So since you have all the answers you tell us what Bo did over the summer after football camps in Lincoln were over?

I don't have answers. You're the one who made a claim. Tell me what he didn't do?

Yeah I think this has been beaten to death on here. I don't think there are many here wishing Bo was still here. It really doesn't play into what is currently going on. Except maybe the player mentality that he created

You really think the results are due to Bo? You think players want to look incompetent because Bo was fired?

I answered this weeks ago. Most players had loyalty to Bo. He got fired. They mostly fell wrongly. New coach, bad luck last second loss in game 1. More last.minute losses. Lack of confidence in staff makes it.hard to win close games. Then the US vs Them (fans) attitude that still exists.

Depth issues that's on Bo. 14-15 4 star players who could.still be on roster, almost all on Bo.

Do I feel players are tanking. No. Do I feel they are mentally in to it to win????? Debateable.

I would make a concerted effort to repair that relationship. I would work as hard as I could to change my behavior (take my meds). I would make appropriate changes to my staff if/when necessary. I would double-down on recruiting. I would research and make changes to my scheme(s) when it was proven to have major, easily-identifiable holes. And finally, I would spend as much time as possible recruiting the most talented players possible, especially when I have a net jets account with infinite funds.

That's what I would do.

We've beaten this to death. Very few people wanted Bo to be the coach here. We know he didn't leave Riley with a great situation.

But we are concerned that many of the players from last year's team seemed to have regressed this year under the new staff. And we are concerned that a guy with 20 years of head-coaching experience seems to make a lot rookie coaching mistakes. And we're concerned that many of the issues he had at Oregon State are showing up here. And we're concerned that he is too loyal to his staff to ever make any changes to it.

The more i see the players not 100% on board I'm not gonna question the coaching or playcalling.

The leadership hasn't been mentally into win it since game one. I've slowly been coming to this conclusion for weeks. If a situation is shown to help Riley we just don't get it done. All we need is a 5-7 record to get to a bowl. It was widely talked about but we needed to beat Purdue to get that bowl. Guess not anymore.
