this weekend. People mention that Mullen knows the Florida offense and will be able to give tips on how to shut it down. Don't you think that Florida will know how to stop a variation of its own offense, especially considering the level of athletes they have compared to ours. I think we will have a tough time scoring 2 offensive touchdowns Saturday unless they put it on the ground a few times in prime real estate.

Both defenses will be very comfortable defending against the offenses they'll see Saturday. I expect it to stay on the lower scoring side because of that.

They say our defense practices against our scout team which mimics our opponent's offense. Same goes for other teams, I assume. I don't think our 1st defense spends much time practicing against our 1st offense. Why wouldn't they spend a lot of time trying to defend an offense which isn't used most of the time in our conference?

but all during spring practice and during the first few weeks of fall camp every year, you go 1s versus 1s, and your defense is facing your offense and its system. Even if you go 1s vs. 2s, your 2s are still running your offense, not a scout team offense.

For Florida they'll have more familiarity, because they've been facing that offensive style every spring and fall camp for a few years now. Your D only has one spring and one fall camp facing that offense.

The defenses may not have seen this style of offense since fall camp, but for both teams they will definitely be most familiar with the offensive style they'll see Saturday.

I get the same feeling. Florida is ridiculously fast. I see them facing-up our receivers and our receivers unable to get free, which means they'll load up on the spread option, which means it'll be tough plodding.

Both teams will be prepared for the other. It will be a matter of who can shut down the others running game. Obviously, odds are they are the favorite to do just that because of the talent difference.

Regardless, we will sell out to stop Tebow and their running game. They will sell out on defense to stop Dixon and the option. I see them being able to move the ball regardless of what we do defensively. I see us not being to run vs their 7 or 8. We will need Lee to hit a few big pass plays to win. Also, we will need what every underdog has to have to win vs a favorite. Get a few turnovers. Get a TD on a pick 6, punt return, or blocked punt. Not allow them any big plays.

It isn't impossible but it is a long shot.

....but I say they are not head and shoulders faster than any other Florida team we've beaten in recent years. They have a superman QB and they are better coached than other UF teams we've beaten. We have a chance.

Feels like the days of The Kang already. No matter who we play, I go in thinking we have a chance.

...in coaching, because the apprentice has intimate knowledge of both teams, while the master only know his own team. Also, we're seeing the UF offense be kind of lack luster this year, while State's has done a 180, leading me to think Mullen was a big part of UF's success.
