Me plus three. We are staying at OB and making a four day weekend out of it. How far is the stadium from the bar scene near Wintstels? That's the only point of reference I have for the downtown area. Walking distance maybe?

I've got 20 coming...

I look forward to heading to Dauphin Street after the game.

I have had a few people call me about RV spots - any recommended RV parks near downtown? No one wants to park near the stadium, for obvious reasons. GHETTO!

dawgbite, the stadium is an easy 5 minute drive from Dauphin Street/Wintzells (too far to walk and it's not recommended especially at night)

BiloxiDawg, I would call South Alabama (251-461-1872) about parking RV's at the stadium but it's is in a rough area with nothing of interest nearby so you might want to park it in the morning then head out after the game. I'll see of I can find some more info for you

I'm bringing 12

Can u recommend a good sports bar for lunch for someone driving in from the west on I-10? Preferably one that allows kids.

I worked for a summer in mobile but really don't know the area well at all. Glad u started this thread.

I hope to be there if I am not out of the country. Will the shuttle from the baseball stadium they use for the Senior Bowl be running?

I'd take I-10 all the way into downtown Mobile and head for Dauphin Street (park near Cathedral Square) There will be tons of fans hanging out and a large park for the kids to run around and throw the football.

Take the family down the street to Moe's BBQ at the end of Dauphin. They have tons of tvs, good food/drink and the kids can run around in the back and play bean bag toss.

I'd plan on doing your "tailgating" on Dauphin Street and head to the stadium an hour before kickoff

The closest one I can think of is the State park out in the middle of Mobile Bay. That's where the Rolling Bulldogs are staying, plus I think they have a shuttle bus lined up for transportation to and from the game. Meaher State park is the name of the RV park in the bay. Us and one more are staying at Heritage RV in Orange Beach.

Where is the best place to park? Do they have parking at the stadium?

The area surrounding the stadium is similar to Jackson.

you may want to sit this one out.

I've got three tickets. Plan on taking the family down to Orange Beach on Friday, driving up for the game Saturday, then back to the beach for a few days.

From everything I've read, I plan on taking a shuttle to the stadium.

I swear a lot of people on this board are afraid of the dark. Face it, there isn't really that much random crime that's going to cause you bodily harm. America has never been safer and I would guess 90% of the people shot are shot by someone they know. It's generally not on the way to a football game. Grow a sack or just sit at home where nothing bad will ever happen to you.

I'm not worried about bodily harm. I'm worried about my car being where I left it when the game is over. A friend of mine had his car stolen during the AL/MS All-Star game when it was in Mobile

Parking at the stadium is only for South Alabama season ticket holders. Most people park in yards or church parking lots surrounding the stadium's fenced in lot. I'd park in the area of Old Government Street and Carlen and walk to the stadium. It's a pretty nice neighborhood - just look for No Parking signs

As others mentioned, the shuttles from the mall and Hank Aaron Stadium are pretty good and will be running early and often

Meaher State Park - haven't heard that one in a while. In the early 80s you did not want to be there after dark. Lots of men in cars - alone.

Park next to a car that's nicer than yours

And don't leave a bunch of visible luggage in the backseat.
