The rest of SF fans appreciate you fly rod for keeping the post going and keeping South Fork relevant. Pretty intense week vying for playoff position and respect. And of course a lot riding in balance as far as the brackets will go. Let’s lay out the Burke Spill-

EL and Newton- East seems to be coming in on a high note and Newton coming off a 1 pt downer I think I’m liking East’s chances. East by 2 TDs in a thriller.

A time for West to practice 2 min drills and crazy plays to prep for playoffs. Obviously big score and a break.

Maiden and Lincolnton- old cross town rivalry that never seems to get old. A must win for Maiden for a great position and will do so. Maiden by 3 scores.

NL and Bandys- most talked about game last year and rightfully so when seeing the outcome. Not as intense this year however Bandys is definitely not a team to sleep on even if they lost to teams North had a good handle on. A MUST MUST MUST win for North if they want to keep home field advantage and avoid having to play Shelby or Hibriten or Burns in an earlier round.

Anyone wanna chime in on thrusdays JV showdown? Who had the advantage and brighter future etc?

I’m trying to gather myself... just read the adm’s thread and I’m shocked that Maiden will be 2aa. Hwy 16 expansion has brought Mecklenburg county to my doorstep! Good Gawd!!! Who’d of thunk it! I remember the intersection of 16 and 73 was a caution light! Nothing but trees and pastures with cows!

Maiden will be 4a in 10 years. LMAO!

The playoff projections on HSOT are disheartening. Has Maiden playing East in 1st round. I’m not a fan of playing a conference team in the first round... in fact ....I hate it!
Oh well...

North gets Bandy’s best but still wins big.
West wins easily.
Maiden wins 18-10
East wins 39-36

Northfan if your reading this what are the team by team analysis of North JV and Bandys if you happen to know? Trying to hype this JV game up for y’all come on ha ha.

Any JVs on North that are so good they can play varsity right now and be difference makers/ big time future stars or is the other JVs in conference just not as talented an North is slightly more, what’s up?

Was at the Bandys JV game last night...my nephew is a freshmen there (I tried to talk my sister into letting him come to Maiden but they want to stay on the "dark side" haha). I told him that this was a trap game and that they needed to cross all their t's and dot all their i's. He said "what is a trap game?"...I told him he'd know at the end of the game.

When you are right you are right. Bandys JV came out sluggish and LNC came out swinging. Bandys must have had 5 fumbles that game...would drive the field and fumble inside the 20, drive/fumble...drive/fumble...rinse and repeat. Not only was the game moved to a Monday night but the refs were over 30 minutes late plus the kids are anxious looking ahead to North...all the ingredients you need for a trap game...

It should be an awesome game on Thursday! The future of the conference and what not. Fun fact...this group of kids on Bandys JV (the freshman class anyway) hasn't lost a game in 3 years...went undefeated at Mill Creek for 2 Years.

I've never tried putting a bracket together but I think I will this week...see how close I can get...

Don’t know anything about Bandy’s jv.. heck barely know North’s. Just very solid across the board with coaches very well prepared for every game they play. The Sophomore Studs that can start on varsity are already up. Several others would be up except with a large senior class.. no sense playing up unless your going to play a lot.

Alright Gentlemen, I have officially posted my playoff projections. Only took me 6.5 hours to put together haha. Go take a look! Overall nearly all of our conference placed with Bandys being the last one in.

North beat Bandys last night for the conference title. Back to back for North. JV titles dont always translate to Varisty titles but cant hurt. Was anyone at the game last night?

I was there. Nephew plays for Bandys JV. Momentum swings back and forth...in the end Bandys had too many penalties in key moments and couldn't rebound. It's hard to convert 3rd and longs consistently running the triple option.

Going sound bad because score but I wasn't overly impressed with North tonight. I'm sure they would have scored either way but Bandys provided a lot of nice field positions. Like I said, they would have probably scored with bad field position anways. Hopefully they can make a deep run. Conference appeared to be down this year but I hope some of these teams can make good runs

I agree. They need to clean things up fast! A good team would have capitalized on our re-occurring stupid penalties.

Didn't see the NL-Bandys game so I don't know the details about Bandys "providing" nice field position. What I do know is that one of the strengths of NL's team is their defense which forces turnovers, blocks punts, etc. Sounds like they didn't play their best and still won 50-13. I'm sure Coach Bazzle will have the Knights focused in practice this week to clean up their mistakes going into the playoffs.

Impressed nonetheless.... just not overly impressed. It’s valid.

North has manhandled the fork with the exception of West Lincoln ...who finished 5th.

The rest of us just laid an egg when playing North... especially Maiden... a goose sized egg!
Is North that good? ....Or is our conference down?

....next week we will know! Most of us win? Or most of us lose?

I’ll go out on a limb and say that most of us... WIN!

Good luck to all the Southfork 2A teams this week and congratulations on a big showing playoffs. Six teams is impressive. Hopefully we all make a run deep.

Yes 6 teams. And 5 with a MaxPrep Rankings in the top 32. 4 in the top 30. And 1 in the top 10.
