board was filled with titles like "we love you tony", "come join your family at olemiss, tony", and "my blonde daughter swallows, tony". It is apparently becoming widespread knowledge that the bears aren't doing so well with conner.

You know, people keep throwing out that Bama is the leader for him, but I have yet to see a quote or a story written that insinuates that. More than anything it seems that's our inferiority complex is saying that without any solid evidence. Why can't we get this guy? We are on a roll, have or will have most of the top players in state, our facilities are becoming as good as anyone's in the country, and we have Mix committed and Market on campus. Why shouldn't we consider ourselves the leader for him?

that said, I believe they have signed the top safety in the country the last two years along with a couple others that were very highly rated.

but i would guess they're just plans at this point and you won't end up w/ a bryant deny stadium.

facilities are becoming as good as anyone's in the country
plus bama puts safeties in the first round and wins national titles. I also have to believe OM is not out of it just based on usp ties but i have no information to back that up. I'm not following recruiting anymore beyond who commits and then signs. The rest is just a soap opera described by idiot homers.

I saw the kid wearing Bama gloves in the USP-Hoover game that was on TV.

Don't know who leads for him. Haven't seen any MSU people think that we're leading.

Staying quiet. If he was to commit early on to us, then the local pressure and hate towards him to switch would beunimaginable.

I got a text from a Bama friend of mine that stays pretty in the know when it comes to Bama recruiting. He said "Conner is down to Bama and MSU". I think it will come down to who Bama signs and how much of a press they put on him. Typically they end up laying off the MS guys in the end because they fill up their classes. The sooner the season starts the better off we are with our recruiting battles against Ole Miss so if Conner waits I don't see him ending up at there. Mullen is preaching to all these recruits that we are one play away from beating the Auburn, LSU's, and Bama's of the world so if we could beat Auburn early in the season that would be a big boost to our recruiting imo.

Well, to answer your question, we are opening a football only facility in January that will have all the bells and whistles, we have an indoor practice facility already, and we are expanding the north end zone of our stadium and adding some aesthetic things to make it look first class. So yeah, with the exception of pure number of seats in the stadium, we have as nice of facilities as anyone in the country. Thats what happens when the SEC cuts you a $25 Million dollar check every year. Having more seats in a stadium does't make a facility better, it just simply means that the stadium seats more people. <div>
</div><div>Furthermore, Does Bama put safeties in the NFL or do they just have the best talent and those guys usually go to the NFL? As long as you play at a major university and are able to show what you can do against good competition, NFL scouts are smart enough to put you in the correct spot in the draft. Where you play, especially which SEC school you play at, has little to do with your ability to get in the NFL. The only way to keep great talent out of the NFL is by them not getting playing time due to being behind a better player. There more risk of that at Bama than MSU.</div>

Agreed. Technically, we put 2 safeties into the NFL last year. Mitchell was drafted by the Falcons and Bonner went as an UDFA to the Eagles. Both Whitley and Arrington also project as mid-draft NFL safeties. It's quite possible that Whitley goes early if he lives up to potential this year.

At any rate, Conner will be looking at a MSU team that has put every DB starter since he entered HIGHSCHOOL into the NFL, once Banks(guarantee), Broomfield(very likely), and possibly Slay are taken this year.

We still may not be Alabama...but that's pretty dang good...

Conner said that the reason he wore those was because his first name started with an A. I kinda take that with a grain of salt though.
