#s mean nothing. Balls means a whole lot. We have 20 guys on the Varsity team that can put up the same or better numbers at our featured "back" position. We know what makes our team go - upfront.
Tale of two opposing type offenses. But, I think a tale of two defenses. I firmly believe most finesse offenses rub off on their defenses. You have one definite stud, and a couple more really good players on defense but while you are trying to find a midget on the field, there will be one non-midget on the OL dominating. Is Shelby still too finesse or are they the Shelby of old? I know the Textile Mills have dried up and it's harder to get the amount of those hard-nosed kids anymore. Will it show for Shelby? Or will the Rent-free Riviera talent pool prove too fertile to be messed with? Who has the real set? Can't wait to find out.

Yep, Coach Tate used to ask me if I had a set. I didn't know what he was talking about until the first practice. It's as simple as that. Does Shelby have a set? We do!!!

Didn't know I had to be so literal. Lineberger is a sand box compared to the Lion's Den.
Yes but ...once you enter the sand box it becomes a "Lions Pen". It's our pen. We own the key. We will do what we want to do.... we take what we want to take and then throw you to the streets to crawl back to that bloody spot you call a den. If you don't want in the pen stay in the den!

RB...SP
QB...Shelby
DL...SP
LB...Shelby
DB...Shelby
Kicking game...SP

Sorry guys, it just keeps coming up SP.

This is nearly impossible to predict accurately as the two teams have completely different styles of offense.

For example, SPs top RB has ridiculous stats and about 30 more carries than Shelby's top RB...if Shelby's RB was behind SP's OL, perhaps he would have equal or better number than SP's top RB has? No way to know...Emmitt Smith vs Barry Sanders...

Same the other way...if SP's top WR were in Shelby's offense where the pass is utilized much more, then he may have way better receiving stats...

Still believe this game is won in the trenches, in the turnover ratio, and in the special teams.

Totally agree, I just tossed that against the wall to see if it would stick. Thread momentum was low at the time :)

This game rests on 3 things, discipline (no penalties), ball security and the trenches.

Very Impressed with the South Point JV team tonight. They beat a very good Shelby team. Quarterback #7 Leeper very good. Also the defense looked good. Shelby Played bad which has a lot to do with South Point. I think both teams have a lot to look forward to. Hope for better results tomorrow. Anyway Congrats.

Tonite results by the SP JV's was just a notice of what's to come. The performance Raider fans will witness tomorrow night marks the beginning of a dynasty not even Raider fans detected when Coach Hodge was announced as the new Raider head coach. I heard another Raider coach refer to him as a mad scientist. He is smart beyond his years. He disects his competition down to the inch degree. South Point will take it to Shelby. And once it's done we will all have seen the birth of a more dominant Raider legacy under Coach Hodge.
