ER is a fine football team and gave its all tonight. SP halftime adjustments turned the game. Jones is a beast. He pounds and pounds and ends up winning the late rounds. Hope Hale is OK. Went down on the last TD drive. We need him

We played a good game bottom line south point run down our throats in the 2nd half. Proud the Cavs.

My take on game,
East came out and played well, Qb and Mauney great players, if u dont wrap up they make you pay.
No.6 for East killed Sp on kick offs getting long runs.
Ex Shelby 54 Greene. Played great at LB for East.
East D in 2nd half look wore down, where in 1st half the swarmed to ball, and stacked box.

SP well same ole Sp...kill u on red bone.
Qb got banged up a bit in 1st Q
He made some mistakes I think 2 fumbles and a Int.
But played really well in 2nd half.
The long bomb to Greer broke there backs then getting onsides kick.
Was a great game.

East was outcoached in this one. SP looked to be a step ahead on defense as they had their players in the right spot to make plays like they knew what east was going to run. As far as the long td that did in fact break east back, I think 5 got away with a little push off and honestly eager to know if he did indeed step out of bounds before making the catch bc 8 for east got a good jam at the los on him,but doesn’t take away the fact that he was determined to get in the endzone after the catch...stiff arm and burners 40 yards to pay dirt. The halftime adjustments for sp wasn’t much, just keep feeding the fb the ball on a worn out 400lb dt from having to pick hisself up from being cut each time. Props to sp stuck with game plan. Trusted their coach on defense and made plays when it mattered. Football game of 2 halves...east played 1.

East stacked box in 1st half, when Sp started hitting hot passes, East played back,
I still belive East was gassed in 2nd half.

ER is a good team and darn sure past the eye test. They have speed all over the field. But SP did clearly change their blocking scheme at half. They are masters when it comes to making adjustments. When they get that "REDBONE" rolling it's hard to stop.
Just saw the pass to Ray Grief on FFN. He was not close to being OB and no pushing off. Just a well executed play by Mr Grief.

How many SP fans know the meaning of vanquished?
We have this thing in the rest of the state outside of CC which is called the internet. We can actually access the internet from our homes. Go to the Cleveland County library and ask them if you can see the Information Super Highway. They will take you to a Commodore computer in the back room and you will find this:
Definition of vanquish

transitive verb

1: to overcome in battle : subdue completely

2: to defeat in a conflict or contest

3: to gain mastery over (an emotion, passion, or temptation)vanquish your fear

Rumor has it we are bringing in some of burns better players next year. Crest said they didn't need them.

Hitman, those were the “Players to be name later” in the Calvin Camp trade from a couple years ago.
He went to your place first and y'all told he wouldn't get much playing time so he moved on over. Don't know why he was shopping himself around.

Lol we got the better of the deal.
He was awesome, had amazing footwork and vision, had he not injured his shoulder, there’s no telling what kind of numbers he could have put up, rushing and receiving out of the backfield.

Yep I remember him going over there and they said he wasn’t ready for big time football. They told Deshaud Kee he was too small to play LB in 05, then we got him and he made all state at LB and won a ring.

Crest lost a sophomore 6’5’ 275 OLineman to East he didn’t want to be on JV this season!!

Crest took 2 of East players a few years back, ones still there..Boykins and the other Kollin Byers the other. Must have been the player to be named in trade as suggested above when we traded Camp to Shelby lol

Gotta love the loyalty of all these kids to their schools. Sometimes there are good reasons, other times it’s just a product of a spoiled culture that says give me what I want now!
I agree hitman ......I dont remember any of this back in the 80s....
All these kids grew up in the everyone gets a trophy and everyone wins....i guess I'm one of the few burns posters who just dont worry about it. In the words of John fox "it is what it is."

Kids were doing this in the 80s and 90s, we just didnt' have the internet to talk about it so much and it wasn't talked about in the papers. Not all were big name players while ohters became big name players.
