One of our guys at FWtCT is looking at breweries and distilleries near each opponent on the 2014 schedule. Today he looked at Southern Prohibition Brewing, which is out of Hattiesburg.

Does anybody here have much tastexperience with their stuff? I've only had the Susy B since he brought them to my attention but it was pretty good.

**** man! The title of this thread is misleading as 17. I thought the Bible Belt had gone insane. I thought I was going to find some sort of fringe modern day temperance movement in the South slowly gaining support.

Skoal! Skoal that I was mistaken!

I've had a few of their brews and they're all delicious. Their marketing person is awesome. She went to MSU. If he wants some quotes I'm sure that would be easy to put together

New to the board, but this was worth my first post. Lived in Hattiesburg when this brewery was getting its start... It started pretty much in the back of Keg and Barrel (great brewpub with even better food and events). I'm a big craft beer guy and they have some of the best beers I've tried. Suzy B and Devils Harvest are their staples, but they make some great small batch stuff in their "Cicada Series". Plus the brewery has tours on Fridays and it was like $5 for a tour and 6 4oz pours. So a great deal at a cool place. If your ever in the Hub City, I highly recommend a visit. It's great to see MS making a name for itself in the brewery world.

I think I had Fire Ant once but don't really remember, that probably means it was good. Suzie B is the best blonde beer I know of but it's pretty stout for a blonde, it's pretty much the only beer that my wife and I can both drink. Devil's Harvest is one of my favorites, it's just ridiculously good. I haven't had any more than that from SP but would like to try more of them.

Their IPA is very good. I didn't realize it was the guys who used to brew at K&B.

Before they were a licensed brew you could get their stuff under the Coors Light tap at K&B. The Hipster's Breakfast is the my favorite and one of my tops of all time.

Yeah I think I'm going to take a four pack of Susy B to tailgate with Saturday. Need to try the Fire Ant and Hipster Breakfast as well.

Devil's Harvest is really good if you like IPA. I'm not a blonde fan so I can't give a review of Susie. Hipster Breakfast is solid.

I'm not much of a blonde fan either...

...when it comes to beer. That said while Suzy B is pretty good, I love Oxford Brewing's Sorority Blonde. Edited to add: And I agree with you on Hipster Breakfast. I think it's Southern Prohibition's best beer.

I have had all of their beers. Solid brewery that makes some tasty brews. Devil's Harvest or their Cicada Series IPA's are my favorite. We did do a review of their Hipster Breakfast for all of those who have not seen it, here ya go:
