I like the trend I'm seeing from the SWC teams' non-conference games. Instead of scheduling tomato cans as they've done in the past, I think they now realize there was a gulf between Chicagoland and the Metro East, so they have to play better programs to be playoff ready.
East Side has always done this - they start with Provi and Shreveport, LA Christian Acadamy - followed by EVille.
Eville plays NaperNorth then STL CBC, the top-ranked team in the area.
Belleville West has a game against Timber Creek, New Jersey. East starts out against STL Chaminade - always tough.
Although not in the SWC, Althoff travels to Houston for the final game of the regular season.
I hope that East and West can start being a factor at the state level, making the SWC better with ESL and Eville as the regular top dogs. For sure, that is a SPEED conference - let's hope it translates to deep playoff runs.
