Plenty of good spots availableMoving to the junction.
Where did they used to be? Who did the junction before?Moving to the junction.
They filled up the amphitheater and surrounding areasWhere did they used to be? Who did the junction before?
It's been a long time since the junction has looked anything like this. A long time. What does this mean for those who cook their own damn food? Already giving up a ton of real estate to make this look corporate and black tent-ish.

Student age population will hate this.
We did those black tents one year. It was hot. They are packed together so tight that when there was no breeze you nearly died and when there was a breeze you nearly died while being angry that they were so packed you couldn't tell there was a breeze.Moving to the junction.
Closer to that chronic.Moving to the junction.
Are they expanding to the junction, or are they moving all previous spots to the junction? I'm on their website and it doesn't state anything about that.Moving to the junction.
First I've heard of it but nobody to blame but themselves, they've been warned the last couple seasons about it and it didn't help evidently.Student age population will hate this.

It ain't the students, pal.First I've heard of it but nobody to blame but themselves, they've been warned the last couple seasons about it and it didn't help evidently.
Have you ever seen what that looks like after a game, its a pig sty. They've been warned about the music, garbage, weed, fights, stealing, and evidently didn't comply to the satisfaction of the powers that be. There was a police tent added last season and they were spread out last year and not allowed in to some areas, looks like they were being eased into complying.......
I'm not your pal, Chief! It ain't the students, pal.
Ok buddyI'm not your pal, Chief!
Yeah. This has been a problem where I lived. Alabama State students were fine. Heck, when we played them in Baseball in Montgomery a fine time was had by all. But every single home football game was good for one or two shootings by dudes who came around crashing parties looking for that which remains undefeated. It ain't the students, pal.

Someone wasn’t invited to the cookout. It ain't the students, pal.
I mean that's kinda the point I'm making. This is gonna take a lot of the soul out of the place. Putting all the alumni in the main spot and kicking students out is a surefire way to decrease student engagement.Eventually the junction will be a pay site, This is step one.
I’m curious what led to this decision. Are they paying more money for this? Were we tired of the junction looking completely empty?Moving to the junction.
I think it probably stems from the degradation of the junction. It was embarrassing (and almost scary) or empty. It’s the front door to the stadium. This is a good move.I’m curious what led to this decision. Are they paying more money for this? Were we tired of the junction looking completely empty?
With the current state of things, I start with the assumption that every decision is about money.
I’d hate it less if the tents were maroon and white and co-branded with MSU.
I’ve always liked the idea of doing one of their spots, but just found it expensive for what it is.
That was because there was no tailgating allowed there...Salmon gave you all LED lights in exchange for tailgating atmosphereI think it probably stems from the degradation of the junction. It was embarrassing (and almost scary) or empty. It’s the front door to the stadium. This is a good move.
At least half the junction was available and was still pretty sparse. But that was the short term solution to the other issue- it had become and embarrassment. That was because there was no tailgating allowed there...Salmon gave you all LED lights in exchange for tailgating atmosphere
I imagine this is an "all of the above" solution.
1. Make a more family atmosphere in the junction.
2. monetize the area by allowing commercial to setup tents. Because I'm sure that Southern Tailgate is paying the school a large fee. Where as free lancers are not.
I believe it begins this year. OM is charging commercial tailgate companies $10,000 for the opportunity to setup a minimum of 100 with no max mentioned.
In light of that news. I have no idea but just guessing. State is charging Southern Tailgate the same and ST is expanding to recoup their $10k and grow their revenue opportunity.
Last year, I had Florida fans asking how much we pay to tailgate our spot. When I said $0, they were amazed.
Yeah, they had to do something. I still think they're going to need enhanced security through that area, too.I think it probably stems from the degradation of the junction. It was embarrassing (and almost scary) or empty. It’s the front door to the stadium. This is a good move.
But it is their tailgates. It ain't the students, pal.
It hasn't degraded. They had an incident involving people that weren't students or even alumni once and our ultra conservative asses want to go scorched earth now. Then you've got an AD who has already said he wants to incorporate the Junction into the actual game. It's all going to simply be an additional money maker. Just more reason people would rather watch at home these days than pay stupid money every weekend. I admit, they've lost me as a fan who will attend games. I can't afford everything they're asking now and it's only going to get worse until it all comes apart for college athletics. Our football isn't good enough to waste a fortune on and it never will be.I think it probably stems from the degradation of the junction. It was embarrassing (and almost scary) or empty. It had absolutely degraded. I walked by there a couple of years ago (I think the game after the Kentucky game) and it was embarrassing. Nothing like it was originally. If you move the students, you move the people that were not students who caused issues. You cannot have prospective parents walking by that on their way in and, especially, out of the stadium. I don’t blame Keenum one bit.It hasn't degraded. They had an incident involving people that weren't students or even alumni once and our ultra conservative asses want to go scorched earth now. I've been in it the last two years and there's been no problems whatsoever. Take away the one deal and it's no different than it's ever been. We got too many old sore heads that think everything is worse every year.It had absolutely degraded. Well they cut down on half the territory and students stopped coming Last year. It was horrible in 2023. And Im not in the minority in thinking that. This is going to be a much better showing for the university.I've been in it the last two years and there's been no problems whatsoever. Nope. It was due to the open space because of the students not showing up, leaving a void that got filled. But it is their tailgates.
I don't know if you've noticed, but this is something that HAS to happen. We need all the money we can get, and if we have people willing to give it, then we must cater to them.It hasn't degraded. They were there because the students were there. They will go where the students are. Don't be dense.Nope. It was due to the open space because of the students not showing up, leaving a void that got filled.
Blaming students is just tip-toeing past the real issue. Move them to the amphitheater and let them party there.
