Speaking of Georgia, this is ridiculous...

<div class="schedborder">..I'm sure this has been covered, but this is a good one that deserves a second look.

I searched UGA's schedule & discovered something I've never seen before as far as a SEC football schedule:

UGA plays only 3 true road games this fall, & one of those is @ Vandy. The other is @ the Mighty Bears. The third & final away game is @UT, which is the only realistic road loss UGA faces this year. The rest of their games are either @ neutral sites or @ home.

If Miss. State concocted a football schedule that consisted of only 3 true road games & one of those away games was @ Vandy, the NCAA & Slivewould cry foul play & conduct an investigation.

I suppose the downside is with a schedule this lopsided in your favor, Richt had better produce at least 8 wins or he is out @ UGA. For UGA to go 7-5 or worse with this schedule will mark them the laughingstock of the college football world.

that has got to be the most advantageous conference slate in the league this year. the most difficult SEC games they have are MSU, South Carolina, Florida, Auburn, and they are all at home with the exception of the neutralsite Cocktail Party.no excuses for Richt thisyear at all.

..I was so blown away by the 3 away games thing, I didn't even notice they don't play Bama, LSU or UPig.

All I know is I used to make fun of the University of Mississippi for their ***** football schedules.

It seems I now owe the University of Mississippi an apology.

It really helps that they play in the SEC East, and got a good draw with the west teams on the rotation this year. I wish our current AD will take notice and not follow the scheduling practices of our past ADs. This is how you do it and I have no problem with their schedule, wish we could get home games like that...

Thanks LT

Your AD does get it. Look at your future schedules. You may have to play an occasional 2 for 1 with a weak opponent, but at least you're playing nothing but weak OOC teams. Stricklin gets it.

Georgia's schedule is favorable with two Georgia Dome games, but they do still leave the state 4 times on the year.

The favorable conference slate is nice though. They're fortunate enough that they play the 3 teams picked 4th-6th in the West by most pundits.

That said, Florida has more "home" games than that quite often. They only play OOC games in the state of Florida, most in Gainesville, so that's 4 every year. They haven't left the state of Florida for an OOC regular season game in like 20 years I think. They have 4 conference home games every year, and when the Georgia game is technically a road game for them, they have that in Jacksonville for a 5th in-state conference game, so they alternate playing either 8 or 9 games in the state of Florida each year.

How dare they have a chance at success by avoiding the best 3 teams in the other division! Why hasn't Jeremy Foley complained yet?!

@Georgia Tech in Atlanta is a road game at GT's stadium not a neutral site. Add the 3 SEC road games and you have 4.

...but since UGA will have as many if not more fans @ that game than GT fans, my greater point still stands.
