As someone who has family members who have gone through this type stuff, it pisses me off that the handlers of people like McConnell, Biden, etc. trot them out there to embarrass themselves so they can continue to profit off them somehow.
I don’t want to be insensitive to your plight, especially since I’ve had recent issues with this type stuff. As someone who has family members who have gone through this type stuff, it pisses me off that the handlers of people like McConnell, Biden, etc. trot them out there to embarrass themselves so they can continue to profit off them somehow.

But, Turtle voted against Gabbard today. Like a true RINO. He’s his own man, and he’s a steaming pile of shìt.
He’s not seeking reelection so he can vote how he pleases without having to worry about the gnashing of teeth from MAGA cronies. I can guarantee there are others who would have voted no but are scared to. Same thing with the RFK nomination. It’s pretty clear Senator Cassidy didn’t want to vote for him in committee but his tune changed after a couple of days because he caved.I don’t want to be insensitive to your plight, especially since I’ve had recent issues with this type stuff.

Hope you can clean the sand out of your *** someday soon, Twinkletoes. I’m pulling for you.****The willingness to crucify someone every time they aren’t lockstep with the party is unnerving
Same thing happened when the Biden/Harris controllers tried to steal the election, and succeeded in stealing the Democratic nomination. They made it clear very quickly that if anyone tried to run against Harris at the convention, it was career suicide (and if rumors are true, maybe actual "suicide"). And yes, it happens in both parties and it's terrible for the USA.He’s not seeking reelection so he can vote how he pleases without having to worry about the gnashing of teeth from MAGA cronies. Same thing happens in both parties. People are scared to vote the way they want to because of the repercussions.
I hope for TERM LIMITS in the near future. Get rid of life-long politicians.
Crazy Maxine is 86 years old
Crazy Nancy is 84.
You may not have been following along on that side of the aisle, but Mitch hasn't been in lockstep, and in fact has been working against his own supposed party on many issues. This ain't the first time he's needed to be (verbally) crucified. All I'm saying is, people vote the way they want on an issue and that's fine, but there is a difference between 'voting your conscience' and continually trying to undermine the party's stated tenets. The willingness to crucify someone every time they aren’t lockstep with the party is unnerving
You some kind of ageist or something?**I'm against term limits for a variety of reasons, but I'm good with age limits. A rule for federal elected officials that they must complete their term by 75 or so is completely reasonable.
Sure, in the same way we don't let toddlers fly airplanes. It's forever WILD to me that we more or less leave it up to people to decide when they shouldn't drive autos anymore, also. You some kind of ageist or something?**
Isn’t age a protected class?I'm against term limits for a variety of reasons, but I'm good with age limits. A rule for federal elected officials that they must complete their term by 75 or so is completely reasonable.

The longer one is in DC, the more likely they are to become corrupt - for a variety of reasons. That's why I'm for term limits. I have no objections to persons serving because of age. You'd not have to worry about age related cognitive decline if you had term limits. It's not very likely that someone is elected to the house or senate for their first term after turning 60.I'm against term limits for a variety of reasons, but I'm good with age limits. A rule for federal elected officials that they must complete their term by 75 or so is completely reasonable.
Yep... Yearly driving tests should be required after 70 in my opinion. That shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience. What else are folks that age doing all day anyway? **Sure, in the same way we don't let toddlers fly airplanes. It's forever WILD to me that we more or less leave it up to people to decide when they shouldn't drive autos anymore, also.
Broadly speaking, yes but it's generally allowed for a compelling reason that applies to everyone equally. For example, many companies clip a pilot's wings at 65 and at least one religious denomination (UMC) requires retirement at 72 for ministers.Isn’t age a protected class?
I'm not saying you are wrong, but with the constant turnover that term limits would bring, you'd be ceding a ton of power to un-elected staffers, lobbyists, and others who aren't accountable to voters. The longer one is in DC, the more likely they are to become corrupt - for a variety of reasons. So, if someone was elected to the house till they maxed out then moved on to the senate, they could still serve 36 years. That's too much. We need to eliminate career politicians. Add in a maximum for combined years of service. That would be the key - maybe somewhere between 16-20.18 years total. That's 3 senate terms, 9 house terms. More than enough time.
Cant be President until 35. Cant be Senator until 30.Isn’t age a protected class?
Term limits would create turnover. That's the point. But it wouldn't be constant.I'm not saying you are wrong, but with the constant turnover that term limits would bring, you'd be ceding a ton of power to un-elected staffers, lobbyists, and others who aren't accountable to voters.
Plus, we already have term limits - we can vote them out. Way too many people biitch and moan about government then run go vote for the same person they always have.
If there were 2 true moderates from each party in the Senate and 4-5 from each party in the House, those 10-12 individuals could totally control legislation.
This litmus test BS from both parties is very detrimental to these United States.
There is not a political party for people that are just right & just left of center and a large portion of the population is in that area. The fringe lunatics on the left & right are both minorities that control their party's agenda.
Not happening nor should it.I like my politicians scared. Heaven forbid they do the will of the people instead of gouging them during their "public service."
If any administration could get real term limits in place, it's this one. It will take an outsider.
I don’t either. I know I’ve been to HR for multiple coaching sessions, and one topic was how to not to ask about age during an interview.Cant be President until 35. Cant be Senator until 30.
Would placing an age ceiling be different from the age floors that are in place right now?
Genuinely dont know the legal argument for it.

Old age can be A problem, but not necessarily THE problem. Both corruption and cognitive decline can be attributed to age. However, there are some in congress that are corrupt and / or a complete imbecile at 30. Term limits would make sure they're not in office destroying our nation for another half century.Cant be President until 35. Cant be Senator until 30.

Well yeah, this is something that we definitely agree on. He has played a large role in this country's political system and process being where it is right now. He is a massive liar and constantly put politics over policy because he wanted to play a game of power rather than help improve the lives of Americans.and he’s a steaming pile of shìt.
No. 18 years total. The better part of 2 decades is more than enough time in Washington. So, if someone was elected to the house till they maxed out then moved on to the senate, they could still serve 36 years. I will say this about McConnell. I think he's a swamp creature of the highest order. But I think back to when he warned the Dems about changing the rules of the Senate. He told them not to do it and that they'd wish they hadn't. That one turned out to be more than prophetic.Well yeah, this is something that we definitely agree on. Last time I checked 18 was between 16 and 20... But this new math can be confusing.No. 18 years total.
Go re-read the first sentence of your post.Last time I checked 18 was between 16 and 20... But this new math can be confusing.
