Iowa's RBs seemed quite fast, and the only DB we had who could keep up was Gerry, a sprinter in high school. Were their RBs faster than Newby or Bryant?
You would be incorrect. Wadley was probably one of the fastest guys on the field, and definitely faster than NU RBs.No, we have a speed deficiency on D---specifically at LB. That is my biggest issue with LB recruiting, IMO need more speed than size.
Iowa has better backs

You've just been on here making a whole damned lot of sense lately...All of these guys across position groups run within a step or two of each other in shorts in the summer on a track.
In the middle of a beatdown on chilly Friday in pads, where positioning and angles are everything (morale and injuries are also considered), folks want to wonder if a school with an average recruiting rank of 25 has a *definitively* lower athleticism level/team speed level than a school who lost to an FCS school and ranks around 50 in recruiting most years?
When you get your butt whooped on occassion, it doesn't mean the whole basket of eggs is cracked.
P.S. Does Michigan need to have this conversation? Peppers did absolutely nothing against Iowa, and he has no legitimate excuses that I can see.
You don't think Nebraska has a speed deficiency on D? If you don't see large, slow LB then you are missing something. Nebraska LB have made a lot of RB look fast this year.
My thought as well. I'm not a "trained eye" when it comes to LB play but I was wondering aloud where Weber was.young looked awful. maybe he's still hurt? it was painful to watch.
Young was limping noticeably and looked like he shouldn't have been on the field. That long 4th down pick up was right in front of him and there was no way he could cover any ground to stop the receiver short. That wasn't lost on Beathard.young looked awful. maybe he's still hurt? it was painful to watch.
