As someone who uses ChatGPT/Claude/Perplexity multiple times everyday at my job...DO NOT use it to write first drafts! Have them edit your original copy. I know SI doesn't give a ****, but if anyone here does, consider a friendly reminder.
I'm the opposite. Let ChatGPT write an original and then edit it to fix it.
Eh, still not a huge fan of what it spits out, even if you feed it original content to reproduce the voice. Writing headlines, sample tweets, yes, let it do it.

I’ve actually used it for both. When I’m having a hard time getting started on something I’ll use it to break the writer’s block. But, like you mentioned, it is also a good tool to review something I’m about to submit.

I feel like it’s pretty good for an average audience. I’m generally just using it for letters, but I feel like it helps me ke letters simple and straightforward. Also rarely am I writing stuff that needs to be excellent as opposed to just needing to be done.
It also helps me avoid perfectionism.
