Reality is that SCN has only one player with D1 offers. (and not high D1).

SCN is bigger on the line, but Brook is more talented.. and by a lot.

I think brook makes SCN one-dimension on offense and exposes their secondary.

27-10 Brook.

I’ll take SCN 10-7 based on what I’ve seen out of the brook the last few years.

I think I’m being generous to the brook, but just to not ruffle too many feathers I’ll say it’ll be close...

D1 offers
North has had quite a few the last few seasons
I think they were 0-2
Brook has 3, 4, or 5
I haven’t seen Brook play this season

Curie has about 4 guys with D1 offers and a couple more high on watch lists and they just got killed by Fenwick 45-15. SCN wins by 10

Agreed. SCN is like Fenwick while The Brook is like Curie.

I think Brook wins a close game. SCN is overrated this year. Furtney is an outstanding player though and Bones will enjoy watching him play but in the end scoreboard sez Brook by a TD.

Yeah I enjoy watching good players to an extent. Watching Nubin was great for two years. Watching Urwiler do his thing was fantastic. But watching that HF kid a couple years back put up 400+ and a thousand TDs was torture.

Please excuse my lack of familiarity but who is the best player on the field for Brook?

I don't know that I have an answer. This isn't the case where we have an obvious one or two. According to colleges it's the OL John Williams and S Walters.

It all starts with the QB on offense
Must b good and smart
Devyn Suggs
Runner and passer
Said he’s going to Ivy League
Yale I heard
North’s QB NO Ivy League offers
With QB at helm last year led 24-17 thru 3 quarters
Lost 34-24
Pretty good baseball player tho

You know what I like this @zstar fellow. That's good quality posting. Poetic even. I disagree with the conclusions but can't ignore the points made.

Devyn will someday make for a fine lawyer or financial consultant using his Ivy League education. Kyler on the other hand, that's a two sport D1 athlete.

Bolingbrook was flagged 15 times, while SCN had 1 penalty. Brook also fumbled the hall twice inside SCN’s 25 yard-line. Should have been 35-0.

Oh well. Shoulda, woulda, coulda.
Yeah, they were working really hard to keep us out of the endzone in the 4th, they being the zebras. Also, helped extend some SCN drives. I also thought 35-0 was closer to what I saw. SCN is a good team and will win some games this year. The DuKane will probably come down to them and Batavia.

So that means Brook is very very good this year.

First round exit? Nah. Too much talent on that team.
It's last year's team minus 2 D1 RBs (MSU and E KY) and a D1 CB (Northwestern) but with what will be a D1 LB (Montini transfer)

Otherwise there's a lot of returning starters from a 7-3 team.

I probably don’t place as much stock in the whole D1 recruit thing as others. Too many other important factors that contribute to team success (coaching, scheme, preparation, chemistry, depth and just plain old playing the right guys in the right spots).

It's more that we could run into a WV or Warren or Barrington etc. Like you guys had LWE beat a couple years ago. That 8A terrain is treacherous.

SCN and Batavia aren't on the same level. Batavia clear favorite to win DuKane and might be the favorite to win 7A depending on how classes break.

Not sure they will play a competitive conference game this.

Also, don't sleep on Wheaton South to finish 2nd in the conference

He gave the Curie/Fenwick example, I couldn't tell if he was trolling or serious so I ran with it.

I haven't seen WWS yet.

I would make Batavia the favorites as of right now, but they have some areas to get better at. Offensively who is going to do something outside of the elder Urwiler for one? Honestly with that HUGE OL they should have been able to run Taylor and get 4 yards a pop vs ESL. SCN also looked good in some spurts, they needed to play like that the whole time and also find a way to integrate the younger Nubin some more. You said they would get one dimensional and they did, but it was the ground game.

I'm sure I'll catch WWS at some point. As for now games against Metea Valley and Lockport tell us very little.

WWS/ Batavia will be interesting the Tigers strengths happen to be the Bulldogs weakness. If WWS front 7 plays well and doesn’t get overwhelmed like last year Batavia will be in big trouble.

I know that ESL on a different level but if any other front runner, like Batavia, had given up 31 points + 3 or 4 additional TDs albeit called back and final score different would band wagon be different
The next game for SCN is very important on the road
lets not forget Palatine up 14-0
Not sure playing two sure wins prior to Dukane gauntlet tells you anything

Damn Bones...I know it wasn’t your intention but thinking about that LWE game still hurts 2 years later.
