While my Fairmont boys had an off week I went to check out St Pauls with Rufus and Rhett. While Rhett enjoys football, Rufus is always curious about the neighbors doing.....

Anyhow, he wanted to be out on the field while St Pauls and West Bladen shook hand after a St pauls win(30-7)

Something didnt look right with Rufus, so I decided to get him a cola and he spilled the beans. He stated that SOMEONE on the West Bladen crew said St Pauls ran up the score on them and it was disrespectful. First off, the first half ended in a 30-7 St Pauls up. Second half neither team scored.......

so my question is: How did St Pauls run up the score or had any form of disrespect?

I was more confused than a inside goat swimming on a cement pond

If the clock is a running clock and you're still passing, I would say you are running it up. If the clock is not a running clock and you're not still passing, I would say you need to learn to love it...or do something about it. Of course, you could just quit naying like a mule with his momma stuck in briar patch. ( I couldn't find any analogy using a cement pond. I always wanted one of them.)

So if Dan Marino plays for The Miami Vice High school, throws 100 passes but never scores, does that make him, the team or the staff guilty mojo sir?

I remember the clock running down, the kids running while playing, the announcer was running the sound booth, the mosquitos running from the cool air and the visitor side running to the gate trying to go home. Never did I see the 30-7 running like smoke.

Now I will admit, I did see something running up to the midnight sky and that was the fireworks pa.....

I was also at this game and WB has no one but itself to blame. 6 turnovers, half of those on special teams, will not translate to victory especially against a talented team like St. Paul's. I heard that WB coach threw several players off team last wk, i definitely noticed the tall receiver was no longer on field. They still have talent but it may be a long yr for the Knights.

What was the reason for retiring players?

One guy hit a whiteville player late while he was taking a knee, the other two were just attitude issues from what I hear. Coach is a military guy and believes in respect for sure from what my nephew says. WB really need some stability though, they have had a new coach very couple yrs.

So the coaching position has never had longevity. Could it be the school itself, the staff, or the community?

Could be all of the above, could just be a run of bad luck. Football has never been a priority in West Bladen, baseball and especially basketball rule in this neck of the woods. I hope this new coach is a keeper, everything I have heard and seen tells me he is.
