Could be the people who don't smoke are the ones who do get it. They don't have to worry about driving impaired, getting arrested or losing their jobs/careers. Guess one has to decide if all of this legal and physical damage is worth it for the short pleasure.
I don't necessarily think it's a good thing, and alcohol is even worse, but college is a time of exploration and experimentation. If you didn't get high in college at least once, you probably didn't do it right. Having a big ole bag of weed though kind of ruins the experimentation argument.
His screw up was smoking it in the car which is no different than drinking in the car.You want to smoke do it in the privacy of your own residence.
The ones that don't smoke or prefer too drink instead and are hypocrites. Physical damage? It's not like doing Herion or a bunch of cocaine.
Like I said to each his own.

So hard to believe some of these kids just don't get it. Take advantage of your opportunity!! Leave the booze and drug alone. Obviously some still don't.

Very good point. You can also be assured that a first time offense will most certainly be treated more leniently in terms of suspensions than KW's third time offense.
if a 3rd time DUI gets you four games then Stanley shouldn't be suspended at all - to keep things comparable then perhaps Stanley should have to eat one meal in the student cafeteria rather than the training table as punishment

67% of kids in rehab ages 16 to 25 is weed. But, it's not addicting Stupidity, plain and simple.
I guess I don't understand why people with something to lose would do it in a place that people can smell it, and keep it in a place, people can find it. Smoke at the hotel, leave it there, eat 6 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, brush your teeth, then go out.
The only people who think it's not super obvious when you're smoking weed are the people smoking the weed.
Rehab for weed? Sounds pretty unnecessary. But I'm sure it gives a nice little boost to the rehab industry and keeps people employed.

Where in the article did it say they were smoking it in the car? Nothing I read gave that indication. The officer said he could smell "fresh" cannabis. Around 20 grams of fresh cannabis (of good quality) will have a very strong odor that can permeate just about any container that is not airtight.
Also, drinking and driving is much more dangerous. You would have to blaze an enormous amount of weed to approach drunk levels of impairment.
Also gives parents that don't want to face reality a good excuse. "That addictive weed was to blame!"
Or eat a gummie from Colorado. The potency of some of those is legendary..
Yep, edibles are a different beast and you definitely should not drive after taking those or any other concentrated form.
I actually heard the Attorney General speak and the money they are making in Colorado is going back into reaseach and development. The potency of weed now can be 50x what it used to be. They are seeing a lot more cases in the ER and some severe acute mental illness.
I am always amused when some dude seems incredulous that I can smell the weed stench coming from their car. I usually advise them they are a rolling probable cause once them or one of their idiot friends lights up in that car. That stink never goes away. When they have a baggie of decent weed in the car, you can usually smell it before you even start talking to them. Pretty much like what the story said. The officer said he could smell it while still behind the car. You don't have to be a bloodhound to smell weed.
Don't point out the facts.....these morons need an excuse why they need to get high. It's natural, my head doesn't hurt, I'm more in tune - vs. your getting high so you can hide from your insecurities, laziness, bad parenting, people made fun of you, etc.
