Noone has ever denied that. The problem is how severely he struggles out of conference and in the tournament. Those complaints are valid. His outstanding SEC record is obviously his strength and why he is one of the top coaches in the conference.

in no way am I saying that Rick Stansbury = Roy Williams, but Rick is a relatively young coach (or corch if you're a democrat from florida) it seems like the three idiots here need to realize that there probably isn't any coach MORE ACCOMPLISHED than Stansbury we are going to get to come in here. Rick proved this year he can coach. Its only a matter of time before he breaks through. Before the king idiot tells me that it was all Kodi, I didn't see Kodi on the floor the last ten minutes of the SECTCG. I saw Phil Turner with the onions pulling it out...

But he's alternated deep runs with 1st weeked losses (mostly on huge upsets) for most of his career.

Why start in 2002? Arbitrary, if he wants 'recent' success...unless it wasnt simply 'recent success' and was actually to show success since Stans has been successful.
How are we in Stans' entire tenure? I bet we are still fairly high up there, and it actually gives an accurate picture of Stans' successes.

And the Stans 'haters' still have the very real facts that his teams suck against good out of conference competition, play **** OOC schedules, and dont advance past the first weekend of the NCAAs.

Anything short of a Sweet 16 wont shut some up, while others just want to see the program do well on a national scale instead of only on a regional scale.
There is validity in wanting that, as well as validity in wanting to show that Stans has been successful as a whole.

pretty early on, however he was always criticized for not being able to "win the big one." This criticism is parallel to Rick's criticism considering at Kansas you are expected to win National Titles.

Nobody here has doubted nor disputed Stansbury's ability to win in the SEC.

Its the fact that we play weak OOC schedules, and rarely beat anybody out of conference worth a damn. Basketball is different from baseball and football- the SEC is the best top to bottom in those two most years. Basketball- not so much. In basketball, the SEC is a top 5 conference year in and year out and thats all.

All we would like to see is an upgrade of our schedule much like Tennessee did when they hired Pearl. Tennessee was having less success than us, yet made a committment to playing a tougher schedule when they hired a new coach. HS guys want to step in and play the big boys- not constantly play Nicholls State and Alabama State.

Either we are striving to be a top program or we are not. 11 years of no OOC success is enough- lets try something new.

Last I checked he was a first round casualty also. Oh yeah, and who was that he lost the SEC tournament to?

do you really want to compare his years at Tennessee to Stansbury's? Especially when he took over a bad program. How far did they get in the NCAA's last season? Who did top recruit Hopson choose over us?

They have everybody coming back just like we do next year...lets see who has a better season, gets ranked higher, is on TV more, etc....

Apparently with your expectations of MSU next year, UT will have a pretty tall order to do better than us................or are you crawfishing again Coach?

Pearl has had some vastly superior teams to ours. I do not argue that. He has also underchieved in the NCAAs given the talent that he has had at UT.
