Obi-Wan is dead and no amount of Lucasplaining is gonna make me think Ewan McGregor aged into Alec Guiness in a little over 16 years.

There is Star Wars, and The Empire Strikes Back, and then there is Rogue One. All else (except the scenes in Revenge of the Sith where SamUel Jackson and Yoda fight the Emperor) is just disappointment and merchandising based on the success of those listed.

I'd rather see John Carter sequels if they can keep from butchering that series

HC was/is a terrible actor. His lines throughout the prequels felt like he was reading them off of another actor's head. Portman has been pretty solid in several roles but wasn't given much material to work with in the prequels. Nice eye candy, though.
His Anakin is the same as his Stephen Glass from “Shattered Glass.” Except it worked in that movie.

The last few Jedi movies were worse than the prequels. The prequels get sooo much hate but compared to the Darth Rey series.... That was unwatchable.

I wanted an apology after they made the first 2 prequels. Things were going OK in the 3rd prequel until they made Anakin into psychotic, pro-abortion until a jedi, all-powerful idiot who does things for no reason and without any training by a sith master, (that he knows he can't trust), then can't tell he's being lied to about his children...

I wanted to know what kind of drugs they were on when they made decisions and filmed the last 3. Some powerfully stupidifying, psychotropic drugs that need to be banned from ever being used creatively again

Agreed. I was scratching my head more and more as that series went on. But the new stuff was wayyyy worse. I watched the first one and can't remember any of it. Watched about 15minutes of the second one and got my phone and didn't even realize the credits were rolling. The 3rd one I just watched the Mauler review of the film and feel like that was probably more entertaining.

I thought Revenge of the Sith was awesome. Only Plantom Menace sucked (but the fight scenes were solid).

The prequels weren’t considered crap when they came out. Only years later did it become popular to crap on it. They’re still lightyears better than the Disney Star Woke trilogy.

In regard to the acting, Natalie Portman is an Oscar winner and she couldn’t do anything with the dialogue. HC was awesome in Shattered Glass and although it wasn’t my cup of tea, he did well in Life as a House.

The fact that canonically Luke turns out to be a total wanker is a total buzzkill though. I like the Mandalorian and I'll watch Bobba Fett, but they've ruined the Skywalker side of things for me.
They need to totally erase the sequel trilogy and go into the EU for the finish To the Skywalker arc, then tell many of the stories from the EU on Disney plus. I’m excited for the Kenobi show but I fear that like some D+ shows it will be a Kenobi show that doesn’t even feature Kenobi. It’s will mostly follow this new made up inquisitor the entire series.

I watched a movie on a plane one time, I can’t remember the name where HC played a writer who faked a bunch of stories. He was good in that. It may be what you are talking about as he didn’t do many movies outside a couple after Star Wars.

Yeah that's the movie. He played Stephen Glass who would fabricate stories and used the source system loophole to keep them going. His worst attempt was to create a geocities website page for this mega corp to try and save one of his lies.

Yeah, he had fake numbers and locations where he did “interviews.” Didn’t he use his brother to pose as sources too?

If Lucas had just aged up Anakin to 12-13 in the Phantom Menace it would have solved a lot of the problems with the Prequels.

But I will die on the hill that Revenge of the Sith is the best out of the PT/ST trilogies.

Revenge of the Sith is fine. I agree it’s a good movie. The worst part of it though is the dialogue and chemistry between Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen.

Revenge of the Sith was by a wide, wide margin the best movie of the post-OT main saga. Only Rogue One can come close to it. I do have RotS ahead of Return of the Jedi on my list, but not ahead of Empire Strikes Back or the first Star Wars.

I know Last Jedi got a ton of the hate but I thought it was fine (though it had some glaring flaws). It's still a lot better than the steaming turd that was Rise of Skywalker, I go back and forth on whether it or Attack of the Clones is the worst of the Star Wars movies.

A Tier: RotS, RotJ
B Tier: Rogue One
C Tier: TLJ, Solo

I'm definitely excited for Kenobi. But for some time now I've avoided trailers for anything I already know I want to see. Prefer going in as blind as possible.

She is legit, but nothing beats Vadar, he’s the character that Star Wars is built upon.
I agree with you, however, the geek in me thinks Ashoka was a better character. And, she took the Inquisitor's lunch money, defeated and captured Darth Maul, and had Vadar dead-to-rights.

I also, think her growing from a bratty teen, to eventually counseling Luke is a pretty good character arc.

I think this video did a good summary of her arc.

She is a good character no doubt. Definitely how to do a newish character right. She wasn’t just this master Mary-Sue like Rey. What about when Obi-wan said your time is up Maul and sliced him down in about 3 seconds lol.

I think Rogue One and The Mandalorian are better than Revenge of the Sith (easily) and probably Return of the Jedi.

Obi Wan looks awesome but I'm not sure I can take Dinesh from Silicon Valley seriously as a Jedi.

I thought IF, they wanted a female lead for the last three. They should have made it around Ashoka. :)

The Obi-wan Maul fight was a good surprise. The animation shows are far better than the live-action movies. IMNSHO.

I am sure FrontRunner would agree. He is a geek like that. ;)

Only Episode 1 was. People loved the last two at the time. Pretending otherwise is the new “I never liked Creed or Limp Bizkit.” 😂 The prequels were a thousand times better than the Disney trilogy.

George Lucas would be canceled today for introducing the worst transsexual character in any movie, Jar Jar Binks. The alphabet squad would skewer him.

Obi Wan has 2 things going for it. Timing and A New Hope.

Many series are usually ending in May and I'm not seeing a lot of competition.

For my money, A New Hope is the best and was the most captivating movie of them all. Anything remotely related to that story should do well and answer a few questions imo.

Bro the first thing I did when I got my drivers license was go to Target and buy "Significant Other" and drive around Owensboro blaring "n2gether now" in my pickup. That song said the f word so many times. It ruled!

I worked at a comic shop when AotC and RotS came out and remember the era very well. To the best of my recollection, most people liked RotS, but AotC was almost universally reviled. People liked Jango Fett (we sold a lot of Jango figures) and that was about it.

Phantom Menace was turrible, but it was a new Star Wars movie after 16 (?) years, so it was fine.

Attack of the Clones had a good storyline and a **** ton of action. The love story is what everyone hated. They’re good actors with terrible direction and dialogue.

Revenge of the Sith was dope.

(I also liked all of the sequels)

It is a great arc because when they introduce her they make her this know it all brat who doesn't learn from her mistakes causing her to be completely unlikable on purpose. Then they slowly evolve her to what she is now. It was pretty much what they should have done with Rey.
The sequels had potential. Make luke the teacher he should have been. Make Ben ultimately reconcile with his parents. Make Rey be the balance in the force by being a jedi, but marrying Ben who remains a dark side force user but isn't terrible as she balances him out. Leave Rey's lineage a secret. Job done.

You, sir, have clearly not watched the Mr. Plinkett reviews -- which are 100% better than the movies they are mocking.

After what they did with boba Fett, I have zero confidence this will be that good. It should be great but it won't be

Agreed. I think we’ll get an awesome scene with Vader and Obi Wan… but I have no doubt the story and possibly even the focus of show will not be what most people think it is considering the show is called Obi-Wan. I feel a bait and switch coming.

I think so too. The Clone Wars was an awesome show. Filling the gap between AOtC and ROtS, current characters more fleshed out, Darth Maul given more story, and the addition of new characters like Ventress, Ashoka, and Savage Opress was great.

Rebels was pretty good too. Seeing all the characters more fleshed out, Vader appearing to be the force you’d picture him being, along with more Maul and the addition of Grand Admiral Thrawn and the Phoenix Squad… not to mention that Vader/Ashoka confrontation.

Good call on the bait and switch. Definitely a Disney/marvel favorite of late. Hawkeye and moon knight are two great examples.
