Starling showing a little bit of a pulse

The last few weeks at the plate. He seems to have broken his swing down to the absolute basics, and his head is not moving as much anymore (eyes are staying down on the ball).
I know this is probably nothing, but it looks like his career as the next QB at Youngstown is going on hold for a bit. Although everyone knows how well Bo treated him, it's hard for Bubba to give up on baseball for JV glory.

I think his baseball career is as high as it will ever be. His minor league numbers are horrid and he's already 25 yrs old. Can't blame him for taking the money tho.

If I was the Royals I'd be trying to send him off as part of a trade package in the next couple months.

So maybe they do package him in a giveaway type trade this season, but I doubt it. I'm assuming Cain is gone next year. So who plays center field? If Starling can hit .225 with a little pop this season (a big if, I know) I'm sure the Royals would love to give him the opportunity. We all know that the organization values defense just as high as offense, and with Soler in the outfield a good CF is a must. Billy Burns, Paulo Orlando, Terrence Gore... I'm feeling nauseous. They'll probably bring someone else in but depending on what he does this season I think he'll go into spring training with a chance. I guess they could play Gordon in center next year, but with his age and injury history making him an everyday CF seems iffy.

He's proven that he can't consistently hit minor league pitching. I wonder why the KC brass doesn't ask him to try pitching. Before he was drafted, I remember some teams looked at him as a better pitching prospect.
