There is just very little to say about MA vs Allegheny so let us discuss the Rams vs Cardinals. EW is 4 and 5 overall and 2 and 3 in league play. Lost to MA 45 to 6 and actually played better than the score, in my opinion.

Starmount Rams are 5 and 4 overall and 4 & 1 conference play. They lost to the Bears 43 to 0.

Of note, the Rams lost to Southwest Randolph early in the year 42 to 30. They are on a 3 game win streak since the Mt Airy game.
It would be easy that say that all the records indicate that Starmount should win, but having seen both I actually think East Wilkes will win the game unless Starmount could jump out early and get a good led. Despite the score EW played MA hard in the first half of that game.

Does anyone know if the Graham kid #3 is back for EW? If so the nod could definitely tilt toward EW. If not EW will have to strap up and tackle. The Dezern kid runs extremely hard and has very good speed. If EW doesn't come to the game prepared to tackle...it will be a loooooong night.

I've seen both play and I think east wilkes wins...2 weeks ago they had a running clock on us at beginning of 3rd. We hung with starmount for a half the next week they didn't impress me at all to have such high rpi

Another question, perhaps not a real nice one, is does it matter who wins this game? I know it matters a lot to the two teams and communities. But Starmount will be the number two team in the conference regardless (I believe); it will not change Mt Airy's RPI with one opponent winning and one losing. After those two items what is the impact of the game, if any? (I in no way mean to belittle either team, their coaches, it's fans or communities)

Last I heard, was that Graham would be back for this game or the playoffs. Personally, I would let him sit another week and have him for the playoffs. I guess time will tell.

2 seeds meen absolutely nothing for 1a playoffs...they are lumped in with wild cards. If starmount wins they will most likely have the overall 8 seed(bc they have the highest ranked rpi out of all 2 seeds and wildcards). 1 -7 will be 1 seeds including mic and tja from split conferences. If starmount loses they can drop all the way down to like 15 or 16 seed. East wilkes could jump from 16th seed currently to most likely 12th or 13th with a win. I think...not doing all the crazy math to find out.

Then what happens to #12 North Rowan who plays Salisbury and #13 South Stokes who plays ELKIN this Friday if East Wilkes were to win over Starmount and move up like you suggested?

It all depends on a lot of games...but I do know north Rowan will drop bc they are not beating Salisbury. And south stokes will go up a spot or 2 if they most likely beat an injured elkin team. Some teams rpi's r so close that a win by an opponent or an opponent opponent could be the difference in 11 12 13 or any seed.

Starmount RPI is high due to one of the toughest schedules in 1A.

1A - #2 Mount Airy
2A - #4 East Surry
2A - #13 Forbush
2A - #15 SW Randolph
2A - #16 Community School of Davidson

2nd game would most likely be vs murphy. If I was a starmount fan...u don't want to hope to lose....but I'd hope to lose and maybe draw an at mic or at tja 2nd rd

I have it on good authority that Starmount is healthy with just one maybe on the rooster. Coaching staff knows full well what is at stake and preparing to play their best game of the season. School is facing one problem, the wind blow their scoreboard down yesterday or the day before and they must have a scoreboard to host a game.
This will not affect Friday's game as it is an away game. They already have a solution and is taking action to have the new/temporary score up over the weekend.
Perhaps Deana can provide more details.
